hey all, im not new to growing cannabis, been at it the past few years but had to stop a couple of months back due to moving properties, im dying to start back up, iv been using hps and prakasa leds, the prakasa is good but doesnt have the minerals compared to Hps imo but fed up of running noisy extraction systems to cope with the hid heat, looking at a small set up this time round, try and get it as quiet as possible which is achievable with my hybrid controller but problem i then face is the noisy fans on the prakasa 300w model so im thinking of purchasing one of these telos units, i guess what im asking is does anyone here use them? What are your opinions? Do they warrant the £420 price tag?

There are quite a few respected growers on here running the telos and are very happy.
The 0008 seems to give a great core coverage over 1m2 and somr growers are having great grows in 1.2m2 tents.

They are a little pricey but are made from the best materials- and grow northerns customer service and warranty are 1st class

Hello sanguine, thanks for the info mate, i was looking at the 0008 to go in a 70x70 tent over just one plant, a delicious cheese plant ... your post has filled me with a little more confidence in the light ... i will pop over to the grow nothern section and have a look

a 008 might be a bit too much for that space you would never need to lower your lights there so intense i know theres a 006 model due to be released and cant remeber who but someone in the grow northen section has converted theres to a 006 by un plugging two of the modules my telos is great i love it super penatration dense bottom nugs on the plant compared to a hps and the frost is off the charts so in my opinion its worth the investment but there is a learning process when you first change from hps to led it might take you a few runs to dial it in

Excellent mate thank you, at first i wasnt sure if the 0008 would be enough for the results im hoping for but with you saying it may be over kill for that space is good to hear as it sounds like these lights really do pack some punch ... i have ran prakasa cob leds, alone, also with t5ho side lighting (which was better than stand alone as prakasa doesnt seem to cook buds past 4 inches down the stem) and alongside hps (which was awesome). i dont have much space anymore for a big tent so it will either be a 70x70 or even a 60x60 tent! Im hoping to achieve a gpw.... if the light is to powerful for that space then do you think id be better off saving the money on the telos and just rolling with a 250 hps in a cool tube?

I am running Telos 0008 in my grown cabinet, sizing at 60cm x 100cm x 200cm (0,6 m2 area / 1,2 m3 space) and during the summer time I have noticed I have a bit too much heat to such a small space. But I remedied that with bypassing two modules with simply rewiring the unit (it is actually very simple) and now its running with 180w and 6 modules.

I have been very happy with this unit myself as I have been with all GN -products.

Ahhh medgrower, your the reason i actually checked in here, i seen the telos on growell last night an googled to see some results, it was your AU that you flowered under the telos that got me excited!! Impressive grow that mate... so do they kick out abit of heat? Do you think the 008 unit is abit overkill for a 70x70? Im a coco grower btw not that that makes much difference lol

heres my curent grow with my telos its sitting probly 60cm away from the canopy in a 1m x1m this has been my best run so far with it been feeding cal mag at 1.5ml/L since the start so no signs of def this time

on the other hand a dual spectrum hps for autos is hard to beat and with a cooltube heat wont be a issue its certainly a cheaper option and very littel to go wrong if you want to go this route id get a digtal ballest that can be switched from 250 up to maybe 400 and just run it on the 400 setting for flower but i honestly do see a difference in quality of the bud under the telos the full spectrum of light heres my 600w hps tent just to confuse you even more

so i guess it just depends on your funding if you can spare the cash or save up id go telos if not or it will take awhile a hps will work just fine my next run will il use both a hps and my telos see how it goes hope i was of some help goodluck

yup silent apart from a slight hmmmmmmmmmmm if your right beside it cant hear it from more than 2 feet away less than a standerd t5 iv been trying to quiet down my setup extraction fans are a killer for noise unless you want to spend 300 on silent version i just bought a can fan 4 speed and its not bad. insultated ducting works good also to kill airflow noise
