Hello all I’m on week 5 of me white widow auto, only just learnt about scrogs and didn’t realise I had one, so set it up, but do people think I should tie string so as the squares become 4 and what’s the best way to train your plants through the scrog

Sorry pics not the best, I have 5 plants but one has grown taller than the others so leaving that to the side, to just grow naturally, but how’s the best way to train to 4 I have under the scrog please

I might can help some, I am on first Indoor Grow and first use of a SCRoG net. You probably needed to start earlier training but you have enough room to still do some LST. I have a several pics in my Grow Journal with the scrog net and the LST I started a few weeks ago. I am on day 36 - Week 5 also. I also modified my net with a bunch of pipe cleaners. The purpose of the scrog is to spread your canopy out horizontally while your buds go vertical, at least my goal. I started my net about 11" above the soil about the end of week 3. I have had to move it up once since. I would spread out the limbs on the plants, you can bend them pretty far as long as you are gentle. One of the funniest part of growing Autos I have found over the last couple of weeks is training in the morning and seeing results in the evening since they have such an incredible growth rate.
I was a bit aggressive and started with 6 plants in a 4x2x5 tent, it is getting crowded, I have no choice but train to keep the girlz happy.
I hope this helps, I will tag your grow and follow along. Again I have posted a bunch of pics over the last 5 weeks of my progress in my journal of both LST and the SCRoG net.
Plants look nice and healthy!

Here's pics from different angles of my SCRoG from tent this morning. I also posted a pic of the under canopy. I have 3 x Auto Blackberry Kush, 2x Cash Crop Auto and 1 x Polar Express Autoscrog1.jpg scrog2.jpg scrog3.jpg under canopy.jpg

Cheers for that chap, I’m unsure now as u said yeah carry on should be ok and then someone else said get rid of the net, not good with autos, so quickly took it down as to not stress the plants out to much, this is my first auto and want to maximise my yield as much I can, I’ve also had someone say get rid of the nets and screw, screws in the top of the plant pot and then I can tie down the branches as to open the plant up a bit, but I do like the scrog idea where u train your plants to grow sideways, so as the buds grow towards the light, giving the lower branch buds and good source of light meaning fatter lower buds

Yeah your are a little more on than mine, but we only 1 day different but then u have different strains, I see u have the pots sat by each other, my plan if have the scrog up, it to have the plants in each corner and the train the main stem to grow sideways along the net for all to met in the middle somewhere?

I used felt pots, then punched small holes in the sides and ran either tie locks or pipe cleaners to use as anchors. Then would tie the pipe cleaner to the anchor for pressure on whatever limb I was training.
If you scrapped the net, I would still spread out your limbs to get more light, it will help. I think I went through about 3 packs of pipe cleaners.

I think you want them more center based to fill in symmetrical. I read a couple of really good books recently that helped, also do a search on Scrog here on AFN, you should be able get the right answer. The books I read were
Marijuana Horticulture Fundamental by K of Trichome Technologies and Marijuana Horticulture Reconsidered ( I think ) by Read Spear.
The book by K focus' a lot on Sea Of Green. Read Spears book pokes a bunch of holes in what has been considered fundamental over the years. Supposedly there is an entire book out there on SCRoG but I have yet to get my hands on it.
Seems like it was by WestCoastGrowers.

It won’t take me 2 secs to put the net bac up, but I think I understand what u mean by the pipe cleaners, (need to get some first) but as u said I can get string and make a hole in top of plant pot and tie the branches down a bit so as to stretch them, but with the scrog method is that what u ment to do train the main stem to grow sideways as to open the up the bottom branches and their buds

Ok just looked online a little bit and got a better understanding I think now, I was goin by this pic I seen online as to grow sideways,
48e9e071cf41728dd3bf49d83cf0565b.jpg

but understand about tieing the branches to the scrog, so have them say equally under the net and as they grow through, tie the stems down and out to the net, which in turn will make the tree sort of grow out sideways

U got it!
Training them via LST and SCRoG to me is fun as hell. My first time scrogging but I did some LST on an outdoor grow this past summer on 2 plants. A Golden Goat that was 7 foot bush in the end and a White Widow. I didn't know it at the time but it was an Auto. I got 2 beans out of some White Widow from Denver. Planted the WW in mid June, harvested in August. I was bigtime surprised, 1st at 65 day turn around, 2nd believing that i had acquired a couple ww autos by chance. One of the 2 didn't make it out of seedling ( gave that 1 to a friend, ( so not my doing) [emoji4]
Ended up sugary white and some of the "smoothest" smoke i have had. Included pics.
I also grew 3 Golden Goats, one was a clone of the bushy Goat I mentioned above. LOL, Denver beans again.
The GGs were outstanding, the clone was half the size of other 2 but the best of the group.
I knew pretty much nothing about autos last summer so did not know what i had in the WW. included a goat pic too.
