A real noob here --
This is my first attempt at growing although my use goes back 45 years. For many years, it was pure recreational but now its medicinal. Of the twenty states that have legalized medicinal, I would qualify for a card in every one, no problem. Unfortunately, I live in a state where growing a single plant can land you in prison for five years. So it goes...
I have converted a current vintage (excuse the pun) 155 bottle wine cabinet for my CFL grow cabinet. Stealth was critically important as the folks in this retirement community are nosy, have too much time on their hands and love to gossip. Not a good combo. The cabinet is about 4' away and it is no louder than it was when it functioned as a wine cooler. (It has a Vortex 4" fan, Phresh filter, and Phresh Sound Muffler.)
The cabinet has some tweaks that to the best of my knowledge have never been tried before. It may work slightly better than other design approaches for smallish CFL-based grow cabinets. Maybe it will be worse. I dunno, we'll see... but its certainly worthy of discussion and consideration.
I will be opening a new thread on the cabinet design to encourage a discussion on the basic concept. I'm very interested in experienced growers' thoughts on the merits of the basic concept.
Depending on the amount of interest, I'll put up a grow log.
Currently I'm at Day 7 of a two pot, soil germinated, Ministry Of Cannabis fem White Widow grow. They are doing great.
I hope I have found a home to share with other enthusiasts what is becoming a real passion for me.
