Whats up guys?! Going to start some auto NL and auto Short Rider from Nirvana. Planning a stealthy outdoor grow in a tree! Pumped to do this and am planning to start up a journal so keep your eyes out.
It's strange that I should see this, a few days ago I seen an old friend who was telling me he's starting a number of seeds off up in trees, where the branch comes out he's potting plants up there and going to check every now and again. I think it's a fantastic idea, while it eliminates the problems of foot traffic I imagine it has other drawbacks. Please post some pictures up and let us know how you get on, this is really something that I can see catching on.
Yes, in a tree haha. When I was thinking about the best possible place to plant outside I couldn't think of anywhere safer than in a tree. I have built platforms for my 2 gallon pots to sit on and I have screwed the platforms to several bigger branches. I'm just waiting for it to get a little bit warmer to stick my thirteen day old seedlings up into their home. How do they look? This will be my first grow too.
Growing in trees is something I have considered and there are a number of post on various forums, here a link to a grow journal on ICMAG which may be of interest :- https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=152750
Something you might consider are water retaining crystal and slow release fertilizer in your compost.
Watering can be difficult, something which can help with this is a piece of rope tie around a major branch above your pot which lead to your compost. This will channel water which runs down the branch into your compost.
I think growing in trees is a great idea and with my current situation I may need to go Guerilla this year.
I'll be sure to follow your journal with interest and wish you good luck in your endevours.
Here is an interesting video of a cannabis plant in a tree
