New Grower Help me improve and meet my goals on second grow, suggestions

Hi I am getting ready to pop seeds in 2 weeks as my current gals are in almost to week 5. First grow has not gone to well my goal is 1 0z from two russian rocket fuels. My plants are hyper stunted about 4 inches tall they wave suffered over watering during the whole veg phase :cry: , I am expecting maybe 10 grams from the two. Also defficiencies maybe overall sad little plants.

Current set up:
Soil Grow
Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. hps 150 watt
.3) Reflector type? square reflector
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply? passive intake
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan? tdx 150
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule? 150 watt 22 cri hps

Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil, 25% steer manure compost 25% mushroom compost 25% coco cubes 15% peat 10% old garden soil, epson salts 1/4 cup powdered egg shell 1/4 cup oyster shell chicken feed 1 cup (pelletized)
Spent first week in 16 oz cup with peat based starter soil then tier transplanted to above mix.

Your nutrients and water:
.9) Source of water. (tap or filtered) What's it's ph? Tap set out for 1 day or more bubbled ph usually about 7.5
10) Method of checking water ph. aquarium test kit
11) Method of adjusting water ph. lemon juice adjust to ~6.8
12) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. no feedings
13) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering?
water about every five days about 2 liters per pot

15) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate?

16) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
incoming about 6.8 out not sure


Your growroom:
18) Indoors or outdoors? inside
19) What size of closet, room or hut? 35 inches tall 25 inches wide 18inches deep
20) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off?
lights on rh 20% temps 75-85 F off, 20% rh 65 F

Your strain:
What strain are you growing? russian rocket fuel

What I think I need to do different:

Add peralite to soil
Use a PH probe to keep track of water in/out better

Not sure if these things will help:
Feed more
Add some daylight cfl bulbs

Other suggestions?

what kind of soil, you need to check the PH of your run off, If you dont have a probe. here's achart to help you figure out your soil PH.

Rough Calculation Guide:

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5

I think you have some PH issues and here's why.

Hey go auto, the green red block chart is awesome first time I ever saw that.

I dug a little sample of soil out of the side wall of the pot and was able to take it to a place with a nice table top lab grade ph probe. I mixed the soil with an equal amount of di h20 ph= 7.16. The soil had an original ph of 7.10 before I planted and have watered with about 6.8 h2o. Maybe this is not accurate way to test soil ph? I am on the high side of ph and maybe the deficiency is iron and maybe boron but I am having troubles in leaves tips and edges on top. The young leaves inside the plant look best although i can find some with tips turning light color. Also old leaves further down are troubled.

Can I use rusty water in my next watering will this even help?
How low can you go with a watering to try and bring down ph?

Oh yea i just cut down my males that i have kept separate the soil is the same condition were too the soil was compacted and is holding too much water never dried out after even 2 weeks no water.

when it comes to watering I use the weight method and you'll find that most of you'r good grower's do the same ..

Step 1 - water till 10% run off( capturing run off for testing)

Step 2 - pick up newly water'd pot feel the weight.

Step 3- water when pot is light... It could be 4-5 days befor needing water again.

at first I suggest picking up your pot atleast once a day till you get an idea of what empty is. and honestly I'd let it go till they kina droop a little........It definitly sound's like you have PH issues.
