Hi brothers and sisters....

This new thread is for you...for you all folks that need some answer to your several grow questions...

I've seen during the time that I'm here inthis nice forum, that many people are new in auto grow and need some advices to some points.... the goal of this thread is to get for u the chance to ask me directly some questions about how to grow the best cannabis plants from my strains or not....

I prefere to tell you from now that I'll just answer ones to the same question and if your question is already answer by me frrom another grower, just please read the thread first and do not ask it again...to not make this thread a disorder...

Also u guys which are not new growers, but need some help or advices, I'll be also glad to answer to all the question that u have from growing, breeding programs (the basis) etc...

WELCOME

Greetings most wise & mighty Stitch,

What is your recommended light schedule for your regular autos (RRF & Blue Himalayan)? I currently have them @ 24hrs constant light but I wonder if I am stressing them out.

Many thanks...

Hey Crush

I personaly use 24 hours program to breed auto flo plants, without any problems at all, but i think that 18/6 is the best light regimen to grow personal plants which is a good balance...

Hey Stitch I've germinated a couple of Mi5 seeds, I left them in a glass water over night and then put them in a damp paper towel, checked after 24 hours and the shoots were about an half inch long so I decided too plant straight into 11lt pots, so my question is how long do you think they will take too sprout and do I give them any light or do I leave them in the dark until they sprout...sorry if these are stupid questions but I really dont know.

Hi Flim

The little seeds must be putted root down in the soil and under 1 cm deep, no more....dry it well, not too much and place it under light....wait for 2/3 days to see the first ones showing them out of the soil searching for light...

;)

Stitch, first, thanks for the nice genetics. I spent the Winter growing out a SS seed mix. It was my first grow since the '70s. Everything that I didn't kill showed great vigor.

My question is: what am I doing that makes the ends of my intermediate growth leaves turn down sharply. Not new growth, not old growth. No stunting, that I can tell. But it has happened on many of the SS mix strains. First grow was in lightly amended roots organics soil (added worm castings, coco coir, and guano) with Fox Farms 1/2 strength nutes. That resulted in 3 males and this shrubbery:

Second grow was in heavily amended soil and no nutes - 'til week 6 when I got yellow borders on fan leaves. Figured P deficiency and added some FF TB. But both got that little leaf curl, so I'm doing something wrong. Even if it doesn't seem to be hurting the plants any.

Apologies in advance if the video link doesn't work. First time posting media and no stills available. Manual link is: http://youtu.be/T8zvv5lRiOU .

Thanks, again.

Ok, it occurs to me that that question was a waste of the (very cool) opportunity to pick a breeder's brain. Despite how much it bugs me.

So, new question: What traits, if any, do you think transfer better from one sex than the other? That is, this Fall I'm going to collect some pollen from Mandala's Beyond the Brain, WOS' Colombian Gold (couldn't find a "pure" CG, Santa Marta, or Punta Roja), and Holy Smoke's Malawi Gold (I know, shame about Afropips) with the goal of knocking up some SCH's with it. Because, like everyone, I want an indoor sativa. So what traits, if any, do you think transfer better from males or females? Morphology (branching, stretch, height), flower density/quantity, buzz, odor? So, I guess I'm also asking what traits you look for most in breeding males.

Or should I just select for complementary desirable traits regardless of sex, until I find the buzz I want in a form that fits in the closet?

Thanks.

Hi Gilbert

Nice to see that you restarted to grow some plants after so long time and uy decided to grow my autoflowering strains......

I can clearly see on the pictures that u posted on youtube (successfully), the problem.....it is an over fertalizing issue, so u must clean your soil and roots...

What do u use? soil? it is hydro, coco etc???

Than about the male polen genes transmitions....

Male polen most of the time is efective in the breeding process about the potency of the plant, taste an just a few on the structure of the plant.....the mainly problem with males is to be able to recognize the potenytiality of the potency that they are able to transmite geneticly and with time dedicacion an expert breeder can do so.

Females plants are the ones that provide the structure genes , smell, sizes of the buds and in 75% the smell and taste...

If ur looking for autos sativas, try to work only with good strains, choose good seeds, good companies, cause now to day the seeds compagnies are a lot, manies offer only pure f1 or copies, no many offer good real quality seeds, because the main landracers did desapear from the late 70's, so this take my a lot of time and energy to find some real pure landracers sativas....
