Hi, First grow. My plants are 40 days old.in soil, under led lights.
Half are dutch passion 'think different' , the others are some sort of Northern lights auto.
All the plants are very green and healthy looking, except that in the last 10 days they have grown very rapidly - some have grown 14" in 10 days.
The stems are week and spindley looking - very soft and green.
The node spacing is very wide - the worst ones are about 3" apart.
I believe they should be more like 1.5" apart. Is this right?
What has happened?
Is it not enough light?
Could it also be excess of nitrogen?I know from conventional gardening that nitrogen can cause too much soft green growth.
But the plants are not showing any other signs of over fertilising.

Sorry, can't post pictures just now :(

:smokebuds:Don'y worry, that is quite normal.Mine are about the same age and are doing that also especially the mainstem,or main cola.I take it they are showing a lt of pistols at this point. As the plant gets taller the node spacing stretches out so you won't have branching that close.Mine started out about every inch or two and now towards the top are about thre to four inches or more and this is normal.Ihave been raising my lights almost every day they grow so fast.So don't worry they are doing what there supposed to do.

What are your temps like? High temps can cause stretching and long internodes if not temps more light is needed or bring closer. As you said to much Nitrogen can cause stretch but you've ticked that one off. :smokebuds:

how about some pic's....oop's did't see you cant ...sorry.

ok namvet25,I will try to stay cool!
1st time,so I worry about everything :)
I will try to take some photos this week.
the difference in height between the tallest and the shortest plants is a good 12".
Is this normal for the same veriety of seed?

Sounds like they have hit that fun grow like crazy stage. My fav part. Those are both strains that get big quick from what I've read. Thing might just be putting on a show for ya.

Yes it is normal for the same strain in the same conditions to grow at different rates.I have some like that now.Sometimes they take on the genes from a parent plant that was used for breeding and that plant might have been a smaller strain.:smokebuds:
