I believe I may have a problem and am looking for a solution if I do.
I just harvested a couple of plants , one was trimmed and hung up to dry Monday and the other one Tuesday. I dry them by tying fishing string to them and hanging them up on a hanger.
I am drying them in an outside garage that has no heat or a/c. It can get very hot and humid in there when the temp gets above 70-75 so I put a portable a/c - dehumidifier in the garage pretty close to the plants.
The problem - a family member is having surgery and I will be going out of town Sat. am and will not be back until Thursday so I will not be around to monitor the plants.
What has me concerned is I obviously will not be around to monitor how the dehumidifier is doing. Mt worries are twofold - It could end up drying the plants too fast, ruining what looks to be a nice harvest or on the other spectrum if it gets hot while I am away, which it is supposed to be in the 80's, it will not be doing a good enough job and the plants will start to mold.
Due to the way I dry my buds, they are obviously still attached to the stems. I mention this because I was thinking maybe I should cut them off the stems and put them in jars with a few humidistats until I get home, using quite a few jars so they are not packed in, creating mold.
Or...do I just monitor them until Friday night and if all is well, leave them hanging until Thursday.
Or, I could move them outside to hang. If I did that, they would be under a sort of lean to roof but in the shade.
I just really hate to lose these plants.
Any suggestions deeply appreciated
