Hi to everyone, I'm a novice first time grower and my strain is Auto seed's Auto#1. As I said I'm a novice and I'm not sure how many weeks I am away from harvesting, my girl is aprox two months old and two feet tall. I'm using Mirclegrow all purpose compost with a 300w duel spec cfl and just one fert (Doff portland liquid growmore 7-7-7) from seed to now aprox. I wasn't expecting a monster of a plant but she is doing better than expected. Could anyone estimate how long she has left? she's had techomes for about a week and a half. thanks in advance for all your help :).

First off Pigeon welcome to AFN mate and enjoy your stay buddie your very welcome here my friend , your plants look great for a first timer nice one mate , looks as shes a bit to go yet my advice would be jump about the new growers section and have a look at some of the soil grows and see how they set up there grows and what nutes they use and when they use them mate

See you around the forum buddie :peace:

Hi and a big welcome budd! :D

me to am a first time grower. 35 days in now. In koko tho :)

Feel free to get in there and have a looksy :buds:

btw: how far away from top are u running u`r cfl?

Thanks for the reply and the warm welcome Dex and Rebel :), I always try and keep the CFL 3-4 inches from the top of the girl. Sorry about the poor picture quality I only have 3.2mp camera on my phone. I'll look at the new growers section now. When I started I wanted the hardiest strain originally mean't for an outdoor guerilla grow that'll withstand the UK's extreme early spring weather but the amount of rain and -5 at night mean't no strain could survive according to my research, so the only option was indoors so I started off the first six weeks with a 45watt blue spec CFL (I know its pitiful but worked remarkably well). I have a few questions... First: Is there any way to increase the p and k factor of the soil with anything lying around the typical home (I don't get paid until two weeks time so buying another fert isn't possible)? Second: Would my 7-7-7 fert have enough p and k factor to give it reasonable buds 18grams+ (dry weight, is what I'm aiming for)? Third: Will cutting a couple of the lower branches off boost the bud growth to the upper most buds or will it ruin the end yield significantly? Thanks in advance for all your help :).

You've done a very good job w/ that plant ... I hope you're not in a hurry to harvest because it looks to be 4-6 weeks from being done, maybe a little more. You could spend a lot more money on Fertilizers; etc, but you should be OK w/ what you have. Obviously there are fertilizers made specifically for MJ that would be better but I wouldn't worry about that until your next grow ... most people don't have such good results w/ miracle grow soil. My guess is you've got a green thumb (or you're damned lucky) more light would be great. Any way to combine sunlight w/ your CFL ? And keep in lit at least 20 hrs a day.
:smokebuds:

Thanks Chester . I was hoping to harvest in two weeks or so which is when its due.. But its ready when its ready . Yeah I'm planning on kitting up with Biobizz's range when this piss-taker of a plant is finished , I have one other seedling about one week old so I'm going to compare its end product with a Biobizz grown plant and just see the contrast between them. Hahaa gardening runs in the blood funnily enough . Introducing sunlight is a bit of a problem because my back gardens fences are quite low so humans can see in, also I can't afford humans to clock it sitting there nice and dandy on the window ledge with an F*** off CFL hanging over it lol. I'm going to combine my 300watt duel CFL with the 45watt blue CFL in with the next grow at veg stage and buy a similar wattage red CFL to combine with 300watt duel CFL for the flowering stage to boost the light factor a bit, Next grow will have around six girls though. It was on a 20/4 but the timer broke so she's running at 24/0 now but I don't think she'll mind much, what do you think? Any more imput anyone I would love to hear everyone's opinion about my grow. Thanks... Peace and MJ be with you all

Most people give them some dark during flowering but I don't think 24/7 is going to hurt them ... Sounds like you'll have some $$ invested in your lights before you get through ... why not make the move to LEDs now instead of later ... there are several LED threads here for information ...
:bong:

Welcome to AFN it looks like that plant has a few weeks to go but is looking well especially for miracle grow lol. Seems everyone new using miracle grow has problems.

I think that might be cos miracle grow is(putting it sensitively)...not all that! But, pull a decent grow off, with it, and you`re on ya way t`stardom! ;)

By what I've read on AFN most of the growth happens in the dark when the plant turns the food it made in the day (light) to growth at night (dark)... Is this correct? I'm going to buy another timer when I go out in a bit because I've noticed how much the electricity meter has gone down :jaw: and it would be a good idea to save four hours electricity... Not much difference but every little helps , and hope she'll swell up her buds rapidly. Yeah I've read up on them and seen cracking results, I really want LED's but the set-up costs are extortionate, something around £200-400 and I don't have that money at the moment, got rent to pay . I've noticed everyone's having problems with Miracle grow and I agree It's S**t. I'm getting Biobizz in for the second grow and the rest of the kit, Believe it or not but I've never used a PH tester or ventilation fans. It was going to be a push a seed into the ground and come back in 8 weeks guerilla grow originally and just an experiment but because of the weather I couldn't. I'm doing it properly next grow. I'm surprised I got this far without hardly any kit  Thanks for all your imput... keep it coming guys. Peace and Big Buds be with you all :pass:
