New Grower help

I'm getting ready to start my plants in a few days in my room since it isn't above freezing here yet. Im gunna be growing in my barn this summer so on the days that it gets above 100 I should hopefully be alright since I won't be directly in the sun right? What do I have to do with all of the ph balance and everything? How do I measure all this stuff? What all do I have to measure to make sure they grow good? I started growing once last year but my roommate found it when it was about 5" tall and threw it away one day when he was pissed at me. So this is a first time experience! Thanks guys!

So do you have any pointers on what all I have to measure and everything? Any certain kinda soil or potting mix or soil I should get?

I've edited out your location for your safety my friend, that is one of the most important things to us here.. your safety is our safety and vice versa.

You'll be growing in a barn, that's pretty cool.. how is the temperature INSIDE the bar during the middle of the summer? Any idea? You'll have no real way to cool it since I highly doubt it's an insulated area.. Any and all lights are going to add a significant amount of heat.

Growing indoors isn't necessarily a measuring game as much as it's an environment control game.

What do you have access to locally?

Well I'm gunna grow on the first floor of the barn since that's the coolest part. Whatever it is outside its usually about 10 degrees cooler in there. So sometimes when we get heat waves it'll be at about 95 in the barn. And its a HUGE barn so the lights shouldnt make even 1/10 of a degree diff.... What do you mean what do I have access to locally?

the lites make a huge dif...my room when lites off get to 55F/ lites on its 87F...i would encourage you to read the reference section and the new grower as well, watch youtube vids and learn as much as you can before you drop them beans man...

I meant temperature wise... I know it'll make a diff on the actual plants though....

hi garretttt4 i think what smashed is asking about local area ie acsess to a hydro shop for your nutes etc if you dont have acsess to such shops how about garden centers.. for your soil and nutes etc go for a light potting mix with some perlite in. go for a feed with nitrogen in they also should sell somthing with some fishmeal in always agood bet.you should be able to get a ph kit of the internet.if not they sell ph kits for fish tanks that come with ph up and down. as for your barn if your worried about temps at night run your lights throu the night. canna plants should still grow until the temps go down to as little as 10 celcius. try some forgiving strains like an ak 47 auto the begginers choice plus a nice strong smoke.hope this helps alittle..all the best hazy daze..
