Long time photoperiod grower (20+ years; always small scale.). Tested autoflowers something like 5 years ago.

Planning on doing a testrun with a couple of different autoflowers. If I like the quality I will probably try to do a little autoflower-breeding

I've been trying to decide which beans to get for my trial run so this is the best place to read and learn about autoflowers sooo...

Anybody wanna suggest some good beans for a novice autoflower grower?

Recommend - virtually anything from Dutch Passion, Sweet Seeds, Dinafem, Mephisto. All are putting out excellent plants. Good luck on your grow!

Ditto what @912GreenSkell said... my history is a lot like yours.. 20+ photo, just took down a couple northern lights autos by 00 seeds. Good producers, and decent smoke, there's some real impressive stuff in those recommend genetics.

hi and welcome autoflowers have come a long way in past 5 year as has lighting technology.
have a good look around,pop into live stoners if you get stuck.

Welcome to the grow show! I'm sure you will find answers to most if not all your autoflower questions! There are several breeders that have great autoflowers.. Dutch Passion, Dinafem, Mephisto, Sweet Seeds,.. Lol.. I could go on. They are all great starting points and trusted genetics. What kind of strains are you wanting to breed/grow out?

I am gonna start 1 autoflower plant soon (still in the middle of a photoperiod grow with Black Domina x Afghan Kush from world of seeds)
I have been browsing the seed shops, but of course I can't make up my mind what to start with. Something not 100% indica.

Will probably be spending a couple more evenings browsing.. Maybe some Auto Brooklyn Sunrise, or Fastbuds' Pineaple Express hmmm...

When I originally began my autoflower research years ago, the one strain that kept coming up regarding the new grower was "White Widow". I grew that one successfully and a few since. So I vote for "White Widow". The breeders were Dinafem and Dutch Passion.

hey buddy welcome to afn. glad you finally made the jump and decided to give autos a try. youll see what youve been missing soon enough : )
id say in terms of highest quality smoke, from what i see here, it seems to be mephisto leading the charge. yieldwise id go for dutch passion.
the only thing really different in autos you wont be familiar with is wich ones can take the punishment of training. some love trimming, topping and a good strap down. others as ive recently learned the hard way, hate it. anything xl should be able to take the worst of it though. anyway im rambling now lol. if you need anything while your here you can tag us @EvilScotsman like that or pop into live stoners. theres a busy photo section aswell. happy growin mate. : )

I hope my first attempt will not produce a sick little 10 cm high plant with 2 grams of weed!
I will probably start a log for my first attempt, just to contribute a little to this forum.
