I started this Hijack Automatic in Dr. Earth mild/neutral starter Soil. It did well initially through transplant (at about 10 days) and about two weeks after that. Once the roots started hitting the Ocean Forest soil I was using I started having problems: lots of nutrient burning, lack of growth, general failure to thrive, etc.

I flushed thoroughly and finished with Biobizz grow, some cal/mag and the plant recovered. Not only recovered but thrived and grew to 43" in height with a 3' diameter. I had to tie the top down as I ran out of room. I began adding Biobizz Bloom at about 5 weeks and it began flowering enthusiastically (up to that point it was showing no pistils).

This Hijack Auto is currently 47 days old and I've added bloom a couple of times with light watering inbetween but now the bud growth is down to a crawl.

The plant (despite its large size) doesn't seem to be using as much water as it was before and I hesitate to add anything while the soil is still so moist.

I'm also reluctant to add more nutrients as the fan leaves are starting to show more evidence of burn. Should I flush a second time and then feed?
Water is PH adjusted to 6.8.

Bring your PH down to 6.4 or 6.5.Looks like a cal-mag def so you could up the dose a little.Your pistols have just started so they should increase in size in time.Makr sure there getting higher amounts of phos and potassium because they use these up quickly when they start the full flower mode.

Thank you so much for your advice! I will heed it and report back. Since you have been so kind, Please let me bother you with a second problem I have...
Having given up "hot" nutrient-rich bagged potting soil that burn my Auto's, I'm growing in a mixture of peat moss, compost, vermiculite, and perlite. Biobizz Grow and Bloom are the only nutrients I'm using.

This 22 day old Vertigo Automatic is my 1st attempt in the new soil. She seems small to me for her age (5" tall x 6" wide) and has developed some brownish patches on the lower fan leaves.

Is this a deficiency? I've checked a number of charts available on the web but can't make a diagnosis.

This plant has had one feeding of 2 ml grow in week 2 and one feeding of 4 ml grow at start of week 3 with several waterings interspersed. Water is PH'd at 6.8 and I did start giving her a spritz of water just after lights out when I started noticing the patches several days ago.

Also, does she seem small to you at 22 days? Is she underfed? First time I've had to feed a plant since I started growing about a year ago.

She is a little small but not that bad. If you just fed her the 4ml grow that's good but it takes a couple days for the plant to react to the nutes. You should be giving her some cal-mag at least every other watering. Also a tbl of molasis per gallon will give her some cal mag and sugars for the microbes to feed on.Try this and keep us updated on her in a few days.

and dont forget that molasses will get your ph down

Thank you but it's the brownish patches that really concern me-they definitely don't look healthy and seem to be spreading. Any ideas?

The images show it pretty well.
