Lighting HLG-240H-C1400, Whats the difference between A and B version?

A drivers are dimmable but by an integral potentiometer which is a bit naff...

B drivers allow for an external potentiometer to be finstalled to control dimming
Would it be possible to add an external potentiometer "dimmer" to the A version instead of using the internal dimmer?

No, the a series is internal only
So what would happen if you did put a dimmer switch on the A version? The reason i am asking is that i would like to put in on the wall away from the driver in a convenient area.

There is no wires for remote dimming on A version. You need the B version. Thats why they make 2 different versions.
