Sour Crack/Skywalker
First of all, I love Mephisto. I just harvested 2 Sour Crack and 2 Skywalker in 5 gallon DWC for around 3oz a piece for a first grow.

I made some of the common beginner mistakes, buying blurple lights that started failing halfway through my grow, overwatering/feeding in the beginning, and had slightly higher res temps and light leaks with no bennies in the res to keep my roots nice, etc. Long story short, these girls pulled through and yielded some delicious flowers; I couldn't be happier.

Anyway, I'm starting a new grow in my 2 2'x4'x6' tents. I've upgraded my lights to DIYish COBs, air pumps, have all my necessities covered, creating a much better grow environment than I had the first time around. I've detailed most everything in the GrowDiaries link below.

One tent will be a pair of Samsquanch OG, the other will be a pair of SODK. As of now, 1 Samsquanch has popped up out of the jiffy pot, and both SODK have. The other Samsquanch does have a tiny taproot sticking out of the husk under the peat, so I'm hopeful it'll peek out in the next few days.

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi to Mephisto and all the others who like 'em. Here are a couple pictures of my first Mephisto grow curing, and this Samsquanch OG peeking out of the peat pot.

Holy faack, boys! It's a Samsquanch!

Talk about taking some lessons learned and upping your game! Good looking first harvest. And good luck with the second grow. One thing I love about this hobby is learning from mistakes and applying improvements in the next grow.

:toke:-- mate, it's against terms of Service here to link directly to other grow sites,... no offense, no problem, just some unfortunate lessons learned here behind this, especially from that site!
Otherwise, it's all good! Mind those COB's, they are fierce powerful lights-... keep them at proper distances away during the grow,...

My apologies! I should've known this - I even think I recall reading it somewhere. I'll grab my pics and info from there and duplicate here.

Just for the sake of conversation, should I be concerned about using that site in general?

I've got these about 30" from the seedlings now, and they seem to be stretching in a way that seems normal to me. I'll post more pics here in a few :)

Thanks!

:eek1:, oh no concerns at your end about that "other site" -- *hissssss*....... truthfully, it's a long, sucky story that you'd dislike a great deal I'd bet, and may change your mind about the people behind that place, and what they did to AFN-- :finger:,... but this ain't Hater Palace, so on we go,.... No prob mate, an easy oversight we know!

:greenthumb: good on the distance,.. seedlings want less intense light for the first week or so, ease them into higher levels as they mature,.... COB's are still LED, and our eyes are a sad measure of the real PAR intensity they throw out! There is such a thing as too much light, even without burning/bleaching... I suggest visiting the COB grows here in the lighting section,.. we have so many now, mute testimony to their effectiveness! --(talk to my man BigSm0, of COBshop.net fame)....:smoker1:

Already in there! I completed my last grow on COBs, and I bought em from BigSm0! I'm actually tossing the idea around of getting a couple more to supplement :)

So one of my Samquanches didn't germ. The taproot popped out just a touch, then went brown and died. I may have let the peat puck dry out too much. Ah well. I have one more, so it's in a paper towel. I hope it pops up and does its thing, I kinda wanna keep my 2 plants of a strain to a tent thing going.

Also, that's a big bummer about the other site, too! You're probably right about the story. I'm just using it because I'm terrible at journaling, and it makes it a bit easier to keep up with. Any suggestions on other apps/sites/etc that I can use to journal conveniently?

Well, one of my Samsquanches didn't pop. Kinda bummed about that. I bought 3, so I have another that's just lightly popped the shell and is down in a peat pot now. I hope it pulls through and sprouts, or I'm not gonna be able to keep my "2 of a strain per tent" thing going :/

Sorry I never updated this. Bought a new house, and things got hectic. None of my Samsquanches germed, I must've made some sort of error. I was very sad.

All of the SODKs grew, though. I had to cut them prematurely due to the move, but I got a good 5oz or so off of a pair of them, and it wasn't shabby, even with only 20ish% of the hairs turning, and very few amber trichomes.

Gonna have to see if I can't score a new set of Samsquanch seeds to try again. I was really looking forward to that one.
