What light would u recommend I have a 300w mars hydo suppose that would be over kill as well?

Measure the box. Mine get about 100 w sq foot of HPS which is ample. Too much light is a bad thing.

Hydro or soil?

havnt got.the full measurement yet as I'm about to leave for work

Gonna be growing one red poison in soil im assuming with just the veg lights on the vipaspectra it will give me 225w do you.think that still would be to much

Would give me time to.save up for a better lower watt flower light

I can tell you that it will cause light stress, and not the typical kind that you see from HPS/MH. From experience LED likes its head room. There is a sweet spot with them. If they are too close they will scorch and bleach the tops, too far they will provide you with plenty of stretch and airy buds depending on the light, and provided spectrum

What i can tell you is that light is too much for that area. I have an apprentice that is using one of those in a 3x3 tent and got great results off a single photo plant. I recommended 2 for the area but 1 did just fine for him. So even though its 3ft high the rest of the light spread is removed concentrating the light directly on the plant with no where to go. Id say either open the footprint with a larger tent or get a smaller LED for that area.

Key is building the area to the light, not the light to the area. Its harder to do the second way..

Do you have the 3W version? If so then it could be used....the plants in this grow are grown all the way up to 4"-8" within the lights surface with minimal bleaching or other issues. Grow powered by one 100X3w mars and two 100X3w populargrow 100X3w leds.
