Hey guys, So I live in a trailer park. I'm legal but i still don't want the hassle of explaining what im doing if people get courious. for example I have a window Air Conditioner on 20/4 which my lights because the room shoots up to high 80's as high as 90. i thought with 3x 160 cfm fans in a 7x6x6- 2 for exhaust 1 for intake. that the air would recycle fast enough that i wouldn't need an a/c which isn't whats happening. So now Its getting cold at night around Michigan. Last night was in mid 40's and i still have the ac on. that has to look weird.

Is there a way i can keep the room cool with out the a/c? the only thing i can think of is using a higher rated fan.

7*6*6=252 cfm a minute so maybe if I put 2 300+ - 400+ cfm fans in there I might be able to get away with it....what do you guys think.

What air is your intake sucking up? If there is anyway to make your intake suck up that 40 degree weather you wouldnt need an ac but if your already using the air from outside idk what could help maybe investing in a stand up ac?

I agree with iLI, there are several fairly inobvious ways to bring that cooler air from outside into your grow area. In a mobile home, you could with very little effort drill a hole in the floor big enough to put whatever size hose or duct you wanted to for intake. It would be easy enough to repair later, if you are just renting, especially if you just pull the carpet back before making the hole.

I agree with the others - just take in the outsuide air. Also - the A/C runs if you put the heat on - so it doesn't look too obvious. 40 degree weather constituts a heater - no questions asked!

i too have my own mobile home and live really close to you im just gonna leave my window unit in till oct 1 then take out and do other stuff to get ready for winter. ya i know it looks weird with the ac on at nite when its cold but i just do this evry year so they allo know im getting ready for winter then i just run household fans with the window cracked open. hell in the winter i turn the fans on low and my lights heat the room, i close off that vent so the heater isnt working to hard. was thinking of running a vent hose under the house and run it along the pipes to help so the pipes dont freeze on those real bad days but this is all just my :2cents::bong:

yeah i thought i added all this but i must of been smoked out. lol

Intake= air coming in.

i have 2x 160 cfm fans as my "exhaust" and i have 1x 160 fan as my intake....

i'm using 6" ducting. I did in fact drill a 6" hole in the floor and all my air does come from the outside....my exauste enters the next room through another 6" hole in the wall and goes into the next room which is a batroom and it exits throught the already installed venting hole.

can you run intake air through your light fixture then out the exhaust
that would get most of the heat out of the room.
less heat in the room eliminated the need for the a/c
a couple small fans can handle the rest of the room.

Thanks for the thread! I Live in a trailor and the same climate and have been struggling with what to do about this all day... I thought about just getting a portable air conditioning ground unit but damn those things are like 300 to 500 dollars...idk my room is way to hot though it is at 80+ and luckily I have just have seedlings right now but I need to address this asap ... Do you filter the air coming through your intake? if so how? seems like your asking for trouble bringing in air from under your trailor low to ground (bugs) plus very damp (mold ) idk ... just curious . Also would you even need an intake and exhaust if you have an air conditioner ? I am pretty sure an airconditioner scrubs the air for you and also circulates the air quite well. Just some thoughts I dont have either currently and am wondering if I should just buy a nice a/c and skip the whole exhaust thing...Good Karma to you and let us know what you decide on this ...and I will do the same...:peace:

if you only use an a/c and your room has no exhaust you will need to introduce co2 via tank/mushroom bags/burner or the plants will deplete the co2 and will die....an a/c only circulates the air in the room and will not bring in outside air.....
