So last Friday I dropped my seeds in water to soak. It was sometime in the AM. then after they cracked just a little, I placed them in pre-watered soil in the early am on Sunday. I have also been misting the soil every so often to make sure that it doesn't get too dry.

My question is, how long should it take before I see the sprout pop out of the soil? I don't want to get impatient and disturb the soil looking for the seed, especially if I just need to give it more time.

that would be 2 days correct..... It could take 6 or 7 days...I know WHAT!!!!.

So basically I should just leave them be for a while?

And should I also keep misting the soil every 6-7 hours? One of the main things that I don't want to do is rot the seed by spraying too much.

i would say they will be fine without spraying and more problems seem to be caused by overwatering than under. if you wet the soil beforehand and youre not in a humidity 0% desert id say theyll probably be better off left alone to be safe.
they only need a small amount of water anyway when theyre as small as they are.

Thanks for the advice GoAuto and Bgrt. I'll just leave them alone and let them do their thing. And also, is it possible to shock the seeds while transferring them from soaking in water to the soil?

you can damage the tap root which could stress/stunt them but if youre carefull its fine, most people seem to do it that way. i plant straight into moist soil myself and have never lost a seed that way.
