Lighting How many plants?

I recently chopped the auto gorilla from short stuff. The third plant in a row from them that is going to beat 1/2 lb. anyways each time I ran it the final result was almost identical. First run had one cob directly above with side light from another, second run had 2 cobs and this last run had 3 cobs. Nearly identical yields each time. I feel when you give it enough it will do well, to much is harmful and to little will suffer to yield well. To answer the questions above generally 2 cobs per plant for medium to large plants seems to be the best. One cob for medium to small plants. Side lighting from nearby cobs helps big time too.

Is that with or without "reflectors"?

Yo... @BigSm0 I always forget to ask what medium you grow in and what size pots you normally use? I gotta get on YOUR level of growing!!

I grow in beach sand with salt water. I swear it’s the lights....:rofl:

I mainly use promix with a little coco and extra perlite. Helps the roots breath and grow easier. I have tried 5 gallon pots but it seemed like I had to water a lot more often. Now that I’m automated I have a few more 5’s than I’d normally use. 7 gallon air pots have always done the best for me. Allows 36 hours before the pots are dry and the plants do get a lot bigger than the 5 gallon pots. One thing that I have seen more and more of is high stress training and that’s something I’m definitely not doing. I have lollipopped and will continue to do so but much less than past masacures. The plants slow down so much after the stress.

Thanks bro! Good info to have! This next run I wony do any stress training and see if I can improve on yeild! 3 gallon root trappers are the biggest containers I use. Would moving to 5 gal containers make a big difference? I know its strain dependant, but speaking in general terms.

If done Right, smaller pots will yield just as well. Using 5 gal of medium to grow some strains is just a complete waste of medium. Sour Crack will not get large enough to even use your 3gal pots. I can grow massive plants in 1 gal pots of Coco, check out my Dinafem grow right now. I will be blowing some peoples mind come harvest. Under a 55 watt Autocob btw.

Hi there, how many plants could you successfully grow under 4 cobs?

It depends on the strain. You have 4 AVT. I would not add anymore plants. Personally I would move the 4 Cobs/plants to one end of your 4x8. The lights will be more efficient if grouped, overlap of outer light will help with growth IMO. Good luck

I grow organic but you guys have me thinking about coco and nutes! Some of the biggest yields I've seen came from coco!

Do you have space for bigger plants? Really anyone's growing style should should be tailored to their own wants/needs. For @BigSm0 BIG pots of Promix works best for him. I prefer smaller pots, fed more often. 100% Coco. It works best for me. That is what matters most. That being said, try Coco. You too Big! Ha
