I have an auto white widow in a 6.5L soil pot that was sprouted dec 1.
Can anyone advise on how much longer it may need?
The pistils are turning dark and the trichs are mostly clear and cloudy with a few amber ones.
Thanks for any advice.

What effect are you seeking. Clear=immature, cloudy= up buzz, amber=couchlock. Totally your call. To me it looks like it still has some swelling to do.

Hey Joe looking nice and healthy their man so congrats on getting her to here. so around 70+ - i enjoy a nice heavy stone with loads of amber but some need a more energetic stone with mostly cloudy some clear. I think you could start your flush (water only) for 7-10+ days to make sure its a clean smoke.:Sharing One:

Hey!
Now that's a fine looking lady! If as you say the trichomes are mostly milky with some clear and some amber, for me I would say they're ready! Flush now if you haven't started already. By the time you are done with the flush they should be perfect. ((Disclaimer, I have yet to harvest, and am awaiting the moment that seems to have arrived for you!) Please wait for a confirmation from someone who really knows!!))
Peace

I would like it to swell a little more, but am afraid of letting it go too long and losing thc potency.
I think that I like a head high more than a couch lock, but a bit of the mellow from the body stone is always pleasant too.
My favorite quality in pot is when it has a cerebral, psychedelic, euphoric high more than a heavy body stone.

Chopping to soon will actually give you the least potent weed. Amber takes a good long time but will give you the heavy body stone you seek. Cloudy is more heady and clear is really a head buzz but nit always a good one. I find when they are still clear i get a confusing buzz with lots of anxiety.

You will see your buds really swell when you cut off the feed and flip to water. The built up salts and feed break down and the plant really can uptake it all.

++ What romeo said. I found the early trim critical cheese that had mostly clear did produce a fair amount of anxiety, or at least self doubt. Interesting! I am going for mostly cloudy towards amber. Like you I don't want too-too much of a couch stone.

That's interesting. I've had some pot that made me feel anxious but I didn't connect it to the harvest state. I just though that I was feeling paranoid or something.
For the switch to water, my tap water has a pH of 7.4/EC 0.5/ppm 275 that I bring down to pH 5.6-5.8 for watering the plant, but is this still too toxic for the plant to get a good flush? Should I use something like canna flush to help it along?

Plant will feed on the reserve stored in leafs and maybe somewhere else :D. Water ph and ec not rly important... And adding ph down will increase minerals in water (shouldn't it be clear for cleanse?) "My 2 cents"

I still and will always ph my final rinse water to the proper range.
