Grow Mediums How much water

Oh and as far as seeds I sprout them in jiffy pucks or rock wool then plant into coco. Never had much luck germinating in coco but I know some people do it.

One thing I keep reading and don't understand is EC and PPM. I don't have an EC meter, is this important???

It can be helpful, I don't use one often, I look at my plants to tell me. If they start getting light green I bump up the nutrients, if I see burnt tips I lower the dosage. If I see yellowing between veins I add some cal mag, Leaf tips curling down at ends I know too much nitrogen etc etc.. A meter can help you when getting started though. You don't need anything fancy either. PH meter to me is most important, you have to maintain 5.7 - 6.3 range in your coco. Im usually at 5.8

Only a pH test available here too.
I like to plant a seed straight to low nutrient moist coco. Small cups until roots have developed, then transplant. It has worked on AF and photo.
Reason I chose coco was the fear of drowning precious seeds (in soil). No drownings yet ;D

Cool ok I think I'm clearer. I will prepare the 11ltr pot tonight. I will pop my seed into the coco and then water with rhizotonic and base nutrients until run off. That should then do it for the next few days. How much water will I use for run off on an 11ltr pot??

Peace and love

I only germinate in Jiffy Pucks or Rockwool. I can't advise about how to water when sowing seeds in coco. I know how to water the young ones when they have sprouted. So Omnius might be able to help if thats the method you wish to to use

I would first water the coco here, then plant the seed. Since there are no roots it will stay moist long. Especially 11 liter.
Like I said, I have no exp on big final pots though. Just the transplant route.
