I am currently going to be starting my first grow. I will be growing a berry ryder, auto white widow, auto pineapple express, auto lemon juice express, auto northern lights blue, and blue himalaya diesel. I am going to be using a mix of perlite and ffof with a 1/4 cup of dried blood (12-0-0), happy frog steamed bone meal (3-15-0), and happy frog acid loving plants (6-4-4) on top of the soil. I am wanting to use earth juice products such as bloom, catalyst, microblast, hi-brix, and great white mycorrhizae but I don't know when, how much and how often to use them. Any tips on how I should do this or recommendations on what else I should add would be greatly appreciated.

Well, first and foremost - don't add the steamed bone meal, happy frog or dried blood to FFOF. That's over kill and way to hot for any auto and probably too hot for anything short of a mature photo plant. Also, do not use a heavily fertlized layer of top soil.. that's asking for a plant that will stunt.

Here's my suggestion(s) to you -

1. Get some dolomitic lime, it'll be needed to get your FFOF to pH correctly. I'd say 1 table spoon mixed in per gallon of soil. This can be had at any gardening or home improvement store.

2. Get some Fox Farm's Light Warrior or make your own - this is a low to no nutrient perlite, sphagnum, coco coir mix. This gives you media a lot more aeration and water retention.

3. Do mix that extra perlite in, no matter what route you go. FFOF can get pretty compact.

4. Inspect your soil first, it's really important as bad batches of FFOF have made it out there. Look for little flying or crawling bugs.

Now as for suggestions on your feeding and product usage -

I would mix the GW into my soil mix, 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of soil and only water with straight water for the first two weeks. There will be enough nutrients in the soil that adding anything else would be more detrimental than beneficial. There's also some mycos already in FFOF that's why I say such a low amount.

Any time you use a chemical fertilizer (you don't list any) you should water with the GW again. Use it @ 75% the directions and mix it into your water. You should also inoculate (water with Great White) roughly every 2.5 weeks regardless to get good results from the product in my experience. Hi-Brix is just molasses dude. Don't waste your money on that if you haven't bought it already. $5 Grandma's Blackstrap will do just as good. The only thing is you use 1 table spoon and put it in warm(ish water) and mix it then mix that water into your feeding water. Still a lot cheaper for the same product. You can start using that at about week two. I'd use it once a week and not more often than that.. to much of it can cause problems in the root zone.

Earth Juice catalyst is some quality organic stuff. It also has molasses in it and shouldn't be used for the same waterings as the Molasses itself. It also contains yeast and other grain germs to generate enzymes and break down dead roots faster for the herd in the soil.

I'd also invest in to some Epsom Salt for when the plants start to flower, I believe it'll be a good way to boost your Mag uptake organically as you have Magnesium additives only in your Microblast which is a once a week or less fert. With that said I'd scrap the hi-brix and pick up the Earth Juice Meta-K instead which is an "all natural" bloom booster which you'll need. The catalyst I'd only water with after week 3-4 and I'd run it until I was flushing. Once a week watering with it.

Also I'd start a grow journal, list all of my equipment take some shots of the set-up and always ask questions before doing not after.. easier to prevent than repair! Look forward to seeing your grow(s).

How many parts of Ocean forest to light warrior should I do? Also how do I add the epsom salt?

You can get epsom salts at any drugstore, and some supermarkets. You just mix it into the water, it dissolves easily.
I use a Cal/Mag product now.

You can order Dr Earth Pot of Gold for $11 from Walmart online using in store pickup.
It's like light warrior, possibly even weaker in nutes, but a decent place to start.

What I do is layer soil. The bottom 1/3 is the hottest, that's where I'd put the blood and compost and most nutes.
I then make an upside down cone and make the second layer. For me, that's the potting soil and compost. You
want a smaller amount of nutes. Then the top 1/3 is just potting soil and perlite (it all gets perlite, of course).
I then cut the bottom out of the starter pot, and half bury that in the potting soil.

A relatively cheap way to start using liquid nutes is the General Organics Go box, that's what I am using at the moment. In the Spring, you can get fairly cheap fish fertiliser and liquid seaweed nutes at Home Depot.

You don't have to spend a ton of money on this.

I have experimented with top dressing recently and Isnt turning out How ive hoped.

U can make Teas With Guanos and steamed B one mealThats a Way they work...i start with warmer water and aerate 48 hours..
Simple feeding bro ..Autos grow them selves usually

Also if u have Short strains ..ive Heard Many times

Any extra Help.U can feel free to Pm.Me

Thanks for the tips guys!!! I am definitely going to do a supersoil for my next grow. Anybody try subcool's mix with autos?

I havent But I watched Journals...and Seen the Proof ..Alot say he runs Photos and His Soil Is Onlyused for transplants ..so You would have to Usually tier ..Or large containers and Layers....

With this U can Startin.32 oz styro cups...Cut the bottom out and transplant into the soil Say At Day 30 or right as they sex ...
I will Run A soil recipe by Lever 3 ...his grows made awesome Autos and Alot cheaper mixture..

Please read the Supersoil threads in Organics Tons of I.nfo and Feel.freeto ask ..
I took alot of Ingredients ..And Made a Guano Mixture ..
Let it cook for 6 Months now...I have Been.Using it to top dress with some compost I was a Lil to early but the top roots are most Sensitive so the Mixture can Immediately burn....
So WG gave great info.

Its good togive a dressing but blend it with a lighter mixture ..A little.goes alot ..

I say skip the ff soil and go pro-mix hp ..if you are going to use bottle nutes..plus with the FFOF you will need nutes in flower and then keeping up with amendment..with a light soil you can have more control in the early stages ..I like to play mad scientist though LOL ..Im testing out the pro mix blend now and I think I like it ! Last grow I had more landrace strains that didnt like things in the soil so I figure a light/plain soil will be better all around for me with many different strains at one time growing.:smokebuds:
