New Grower How soon ... stunted ?

Looking good bro right where they should be and healthy:wiz:

I rehung the Big Ass LED today ... 24" above canopy ... the three plants were just a little big for the other lights so if I have to put them back up I may need to put one plant outdoors ... the heat I can probably handle but when I'm using this light and I fire up my vape the damned fuse blows ... New house ... seems the code calls for an anti-arc circuit breaker that seriously reduces the amount of power any one circuit can handle ... anybody know of anything I can use to overcome the anti-arc breakers ...

I was hoping that there was something I could use between the light and the wall plug that would handle any arcs but I haven't found it yet ... It's very frustrating to have a new house w/ lower power limits than most older houses ... Every room in the house has these breakers and they limit power usage to about 500 watts per circuit even though they are 15 amp fuses ... many of the neighbors have switched out their breakers to the old style but I know I would invalidate a bunch of warranties if I did that ... Timer just switched off ... Time to Vape ...
:bong:

Have you tried a gfci tri splitter before your timer? There is a way around it in the NEC code book, FYI. So i take it your house was made after 2011. Code states that you have to have an afci on the circuit true, but you might be able to change out the breaker to the old style AS LONG as the first outlet is an afci outlet. Another way you might get around it is have a fuse block made into a plug in and from there have a outlet feed from it. Just spitballing here, but might work. OR you could run a tap off your furnace outlet to where you need it to be, ya that would be the best way seeing how that is a 20amp dedicated circuit, but that's not to code. If your drier is a four prong you could tap into it and take one leg and the neutral to where you need it, but there again your not to code and thats a 30-40amp. Let me wrap my head around it, yes I'm an electrician. Is your basement finished? :D

Never heard of a tri splitter ... I'll check it out ... thanks !

Ya it's a cord around 2-3 feet long with a gfi wired into it with three plugs in line at the end.

Thanks Nam ... home built 6/11 on slab in Central Florida ... AFCI on most everything that's not GFCI ... I was hoping that I could get some sort of filter to plug between the cord and the wall ... Grow space is a closet in my office ... may run a wire sometime but it's a long run and nothing good to tie into ... is there a chance that different AFCI breakers would be harder to trip ...

Are these breakers known to be problems ?

It all has to do with Fire Codes; so they say. It's just another way of :finger: the "Grow" industry. You can bet on that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These breakers are notorious for tripping on new electronics, especially new tv's. AFCI are ment to save life's, not prevent fires. GFCI's are more for fire. All that being said I'd just run an extension cord from a known dedicated GFCI or from the kitchen where you have two circuits that arnt AFCI's (per code).
With time im sure they'll figure out a way to make the brakers better, and with that they'll cost more. As with any thing related to electrical code either some one has died or follow the money. But I'll just say DO NOT upsize the braker thinking that that will help, it won't it'll just cause your existing wire to be over loaded and heat up way beyond what it was me to handle. If you where in Colorado it'd fix the problem in a couple of hours. Sorry I can't be any help other than information from here, Best of luck!
