New Grower How to grow autoflowers from start to finish ?

okay, when do you introduce nutrients to your plants

Depends on the medium, i use a light soil mix, with little nutes to stop seedling burn. I feed and mist with ionic formulex in the early stages and start vegetative nutrients about week 3 -4. The misting acts as a foliar feed as well as to raise humidity, you want quite a high humidity in early stages and early veg, the plants thrive on the damp air though later especially in flowering you want to lower humidity to avoid mold

I was planning on using plagron light soil mix ? would you reccomend using the ionic range of nutriets ?

Here are some CFL HPS bud comparisons

Well i am a newbie myself so really have not tried other nutes or soil, i use biobizz light which i suppose is the same as plagron, Ionic seems fine so far, good price, though i am in mid flowering and trying to get my nute amounts right, i may have a slight phosphorous deficiency. I really need a digital ph meter and an EC meter but the cheap ones are probably inaccurate and the good ones are very pricey. I hope to battle through and then will probably buy some good metering for my next grow which i think will be some form of DWC

One of the most overlooked items you will really appreciate is a fan controller, these are very cheap and you simply plug the fan into it and that into the socket. Without this I would have a nightmare controlling my temps with different light setups.

next overlooked thing is a cheap mist/spray bottle, very use in early veg to raise humidity and for foliage spaying

A plastic syringe to measure out ml doses of nutes

Sunglasses !!! I am constantly checking out my chicks and am sure i will go blind if i don't use the sunglasses, the 300w CFL's are very bright

Don't forget a digital temp humidity device, an essential to monitor the tent

and of course a reasonable digital camera so you can u/l pics for help with any issues.

if you are doing a soil/coco etc grow don't forget saucers or a tray for your pots !!!

thanks redevil, could you please send me the link to the soil and nutrients that you use please ?

well just search in your preferred shop for biobizz light and ionic nutes. By the way when using foliar feeding be careful as the water can act as a magnifier and burn the leaves. Also just nutes and water will "bead up" on the leaves, you can buy wetting agents to help thin the foilar feed over the leaves or simply add a purely organic washing up solution.

it is best not to foliar feed under direct hot lights, this may cause burn so either raise the lights, feed in shade, or feed in dark ( probably best a hour or so before lights come on but check the web for advice)

do you use the ionic formulex from day 1 of growth ?

No i would wait till i get the second set of true leaves then i would use at 1/2 strength and gradually build up to full strength. I did not start formulex till week 2 day 11 The makers say you can use this for seedlings but i would be careful, if you do then use at a weak strength to begin When i have a decent set of leaves, some bushiness say week 2 i woul start foliar feeding but remember to avoid hot direct light when doing this as you will get leaf burn. Have a look at my sig for a grow log

so for the first 2 weeks you just feed ph balanced water, then at the beginning of the second week introduce grow nutrients ?
