I have never had to measure nutes yet. My first and only grow so far was done in an organic super soil.

But now with the autopots system and I'm going to use coco/perlite and Remo nutes in the water.

I primed my autopots and I'm about ready to drop a couple seeds. I pulled out the coco and made a slurry and measured it. That worked fine.

But once you have a plant in the pot, how can you pull out medium from the pot and create a slurry?

Or does one just measure the liquid in the reservoir instead?

Not sure what you mean with removing the medium from the pot, don't do that. :d5:
You can measure nutes in the res with a EC/ppm pen, also be sure to have a way to check your pH in the water.
Also, autos are a bit more sensetive then photo strains, if your bottle says 2ml/L, start out with 0.5ml/L and work your way up from there.

Just started my first autopot grow as well, come by and check it out and ask if you have any questions.
Best of luck with your grow man! :pass:

I don't see the point in measure PPM in the res. Maybe I'm missing something. But if you follow the nute schedule are you pretty much safe because they did all the math?

I fill my res with 4 gallons of water. then for my autos I use half the dose that GH recommends on their bottles. 1tsp per gallon = for me 1/2 tsp per gallon. I measure in all the nutes for 4 gallons, mix it up, add some hydroguard to keep lines clean..... voila. I dont check squat anymore as the ph is always the same....I am a lazy mom. LOL.
