How to start seed/seedling with MC...This moms confused!

That’s a great chart I’ve found at 2 for precharge a couple strains didn’t like it so I backed down to 1.5 and haven’t seen an unhappy seedling yet. Again 2 was fine for 90%.

I was thinking of starting out slower and doing 1g per gallon for my pre-charge, and moving up slowly. I would rather go a little light my first time trying this stuff....I dont want to go overboard and fry the little ones!

Thank you hon! I have a new PH meter on order and will calibrate it first thing when it gets here. How long do you let it sit before taking an "accurate" ph reading? Also, some say you can mix up a batch and leave it a week, is this true? I have NEVER had to use PH up...so I have none on hand. Guess I will be stealing the baking soda out of the fridge.

I let my jugs of water come to room temp then I’ll mix it up and let it sit for an hr or two. Check ph adjust if needed and it should be good. I’ve had it sit for that long but prefer not to have it sit much more then a couple days. I usually have a couple going so it gets used up quick. I always have a hug or two of water ready to mix up so I don’t need to wait long for temp to come to room temp. I just read @pop22 state ph will rise as temps rise so be mindful of that. It’s super easy but taking proper steps ensures success

If you just bought it, you have Megacrop 2.0. it needs nothing, no cal/mag either. I'm well into the Short Stuff Amnesia CBD grow and I've not used a drop of cal/mag!

Well I'm not one to baby my plants. I start all seedlings no matter id they are going into soil or coco, in 4" pots of soil. they are given only water until transplant to larger pots. as soon as transplanted they get just a little water. The next day right to 500 ppm feeding. I keep my MC between 490-530 ppms for my auto pots. Hand watered plant might want a little higher ppm, especially if you give plain water between feedings.

I've never seen the need to start low and work up with feeding, my plants have always been just fine. KISS is how I grow lol!

hi guys! I received my free bag of MC and I wanted to give it a little "test start" before I decide if I will use it in a true journal grow.

Question is (ARE!)....How do you start with this stuff? Do you just measure some in water, shake, PH, and that's it? It seems so simple, am I missing something?

what are the measurements (I actually prefer going by ppm, not a scale) for planted seeds, then new seedlings etc.... Is there just a simple little formula I can start out with?
Do you precharge coco with MC?...Do I need to add calcium?

I am going to probably germ in root riots then into final coco filled autopots..of course under @BigSm0 cobs.


Oh lord that is a lot of questions, I am so sorry...but I am rather excited to try this stuff and take a ride on the "MC train" everyone seems to be on, and I know you guys will help out a lady in distress!

Good brands of coco that say they are "buffered" contain cal/mag. I believe MC will work fine in coco without extra cal/mag

My last grow I used Megacrop 1.0 and never got above 4 g/gal, which produces a ppm of about 500 (EC=1.0), and nothing else except pH up/dn and clorox.
This grow one plant seems to want some CalMag, but that might be due to the fact that it was an unhealthy mutant from the start.
I suspect some early N-deficiency problems from underfeeding early on, because some leaf areas were a bit too light, and were susceptible to light burn.

The same 1 part fertilizer from start to finish is the way to go.

Thank you mizzi! I start out not watering to much at the beginning, and then I go right to the autopots...so i will prob just mix up 2L fresh every time, let it sit a bit and test. Now I have to learn how to calibrate a PH pen...

I like the 2.0 formula so much, the 15lbs ood original MC will be used for my greenhouse canna in raised beds. I'll be buying a 2500 gram bag of 2.0 shortly.

wow, i cant imagine getting rid of cal mag too...this stuff is sounding better and better!!!!
