Lighting HPS AND LED Together.......

Ill be honest man
I cant give u a definitive answer bc ive never used just hid lighting alone.......
But i can tell you that this led light definately produced a better quality product so far than my friend who uses hps and metal halide.......
But that being said
Im not w him 24 7 and he very well could be cutting corners every chance he gets and not watching things like he should anyways

So thats why i kinda wondered if anyone really used both
Ive heard mh/hps will produce more
But as far as quality and resin production
Ive read led is best

Just tryin both to try to get best of both worlds honestly

The hps is only 150 watts bc i cant put a 250 in my tent without ac in there......i dont have a whole room
Only growing for myself and never more than a couple plants at a time
Moreso bought it incase my tent had to go in garage over winter and figured itd keep it warm enough to use thru winter in that case
Its just a plus it puts out hps lighting
I realize most ppl think 150watts is a waste of time
But like i said
W it in house right now anything bigger is to hot and i needed it for emergency heat alone so i figured what the hell

Well to be honest with that setup man I think you should get the best of both worlds. I am just getting to the point to where my buds are gaining weight so I cant really tell if it's helped yet or not. I am hoping they do amazing. I just added them not too long ago. I don't trust led yet but if they work hopefully I can take down that damn 1000watt.

Hi Merlin-I just saw this thread. I'm using a similar set up, for the same reason as Duggy-winter heat! I have a PG-260 LED panel and a 150 watt HPS. Unfortunately, I'm also on the same time scale as you-this is the first time I've used both, and only the second grow period, so I really can't offer any insight. The way this grow is going, though, I don't think I'll be giving up either light any time soon!

I have a 4 x 4 secret jardin tent with a 600 mh/hps & 720 Mars Reflector Series its working great however the light penetration from the led is nice because all my girls stretch towards the led light. My Led has Veg & Bloom switches and I run it with both on. 9 plants 1000 watts and I wouldn't mind adding a few more led lights but if I buy more I'm getting the KIND they are the best.

I realize people say that 150 watts of hps is a waste of electric and time
But if u need a lil heat for ppl like us its perfect
250 makes my tent to hot at the moment and 150 vents and works perfectly for keepin a steady 75 to 85 degrees F......
The light that is being emitted is a total bonus more or less for me bc imma have my 150 hps on the ground actually so its goin to direct its light at the lower portion of all my plants since heat rises infigure its the best option for a lil extra heat thru the winter if my tent ends up in my garage for the cold months it wont harm anything.......actuallybitd be better to try and start my dwc grow then i think.......insulate my bucket and stick that light in corner on ground of my tent like i planned to anyhow and i should maintain a constant cool res temp id estimate

Ill run it thru a week without anything growing just to monitor air and atmospheric temp as well as reservoir temps over a week or so should gimme an accurate asessment id figure.......
So it just helps along my undercanopy and lower growth honestly... helps mature those lower branches that rarely recieve light without a vertical side panel or lamp aetup atleast.........so reguardless what anyone thinks......for ppl in our postition its a perfect addition idn my opinion......
Ill have a Advanced Platinum P300 overhead as top main light
A Mars Hydro Reflector Series 150 running vertically along side my airpot for better lighting of the midsections of the plant and then my Floralux 150 watt HPS on the ground in the corner for heat and bottom or undergrowth........when these puppies get tall as some strains do ill be glad i had that bertical led panel and the 150 Watt HPS as well im almost certain of that.........

i use 400w with a hydrofram fan with speed controler and a mars 300w led ....i use advanced nutes i have alll the lil bottles and water farms but im starting to get into chillers and rdwc... and i agree the heat from the plant is important if your light are off the temperture drops which in case stresses the plant ..... if your in a basement or attic with and your tent isnt like 2inch foam your gonna be having growth issues...yada yada peace ....trust me i been threw this every year for the last five years...

Hi guys I've always used led at the moment I have 2 1000 wat vipar LEDs and they are great but I've found that when your girls start to flower add a hps and that combo gives amazing results in yeld from my last 2 Dwc led hps thinkdifferent Grows I've done well
