Hello, I recently bought a HPS 150w light system and it was working fine until it suddenly it just stopped working. I'm pretty sure the connections are okay because I haven't made any changes.

The bulb seems to emit a very low purplish light but doesn't light up like it did. My question is:

What is the problem here? The bulb or the ballast? Here's some photos of the setup:

Thanks! :tiphat:

Hi zomba.. I had a similar problem...unscrewed and refit the bulb and the unit came on properly...:check:

Hey Zomba, another thought is that some HID type bulbs are made to work in a specific orientation. There is a small amount of mercury and sodium that gets vaporized when they start. If it cools and condenses in the wrong place when the light is turned off it can cause a problem when you try to turn it back on

Thanks for your answers, althought the simplest solution is usually the best. Bought a different lamp and it works fine! :jump: Seems the one I had was kinda faulty or broke.
