Hi AFN
We're almost 6wks into our 1st grow and for veg the humidity has been great between 60 -80% now were just going into flower and have been struggling to get it down, humidity is a big problem in our flat anyway, windows are always soaked. We just got a De-humidifier which improved situation but it looks like we're gonna have to leave it on 24/7 cost, noise and heat now all become issues.

Any suggestions on how to get it down and it not costing a fortune?? Would getting more powerful exhaust help?

Have a youtube vid to go over what were running with

my local home depot has this stuff that might work. sorry, don't have the name but you get in in a little plastic bucket (maybe the size of a medium spackle container) and it has these white pellets that absorb moisture. you're supposed to leave them sitting open in problem areas and the moisture collects in the little tub. no batteries required! might work? i don't recall any sort of health issues while perusing the label. i live near water so damp basements are always a problem, i opted for the dehumidifier, but did consider the tubs.

Have heard good things about the tubs in smaller areas... My best suggestion to you is to stick with the dehumidifier... In my basement in can get to 60-70% rh down there (especially in summer) mold starts to have a happy home with an rh above 50%. Mold can CAUSE SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUES WORSE CASE SCENARIO IT CAN KILL YOU! So though cost is a factor running the dehumidifier, imo besides the current grow you need a dehumidifier in house if it that high, may i suggest one with an auto off feature, a hook up for hose to go to drainage source (sump pump etc...sink) so no need to worry about draining unit, maintains desired humidity in the area, all around worth the extra cost of running one... But if it out of the question, here you go:

Also high RH will promote mold growth on buds and than basically bye bye hard work!

Simply opening your windows will reduce humidity, as long as you have a good carbon filter for smell control

You may also want to look at getting a bigger extraction fan, a 150 mm 6 inch is really not that expensive and works wonders, i got my kit filter fan acoustic ducting for around £125

Just watched your video, plants are looking FANTASTIC! That beast you have there I would seriously consider doing some lst on her as she may not fit in tent once vertical growth stops, possibility could almost double in size by the time it's done... Thing are looking good man, should be proud this is your first grow, mine as well... We'll just get better hopefully the more grows we do!
