I have a Monkey Fan and it oscillates, sweeps from side to side, as it's supposed to. To me, the intensity is in the right range to be sweeping over the tops of the plants, which is how I use it.
So far just resetting the tent for the new grow and this will be the first run using it. It's really quiet and when I have the tent zipped up I can see the walls rippling from the air.
Never found a solid fitting clip fan that i felt comfortable it would not fall or move once fitted to the poles. Then came across the above mentioned oscillating 18cm 20w Monkey Fan V2 that fitted like a glove, the non oscillating V1 model is 18cm 13w and uses a different style fixing for the poles that was crap and known to slip.
V1 18cm 13w
V2 18cm 20w
After a year of use of the V2 model i woke up one morning to a racket from the grow room and it was the Monkey Fan no longer oscillating and clanking away. The guy in the growshop offered a free replacement and sent in a order to his distributor, they got back after a couple of days saying all Monkey Fan models except the new 30w had been discontinued due to design flaw.
Growshop guy still wanted to get me a free replacement so ordered in a Cyclone clip fan, once again not feeling 100% confident with the strength of the clip (even though to be fair is one of the more solid feeling i have tried) i thought i would try the old Monkey Fan fixture on for size and it fits as if made to measure, so now rocking a Monkey Cyclone hybrid for a month and touch wood so far so good.
