Howdy, as you can tell, my name is Nigel Layne. Shit, now I've lied and lost your trust and respect. Ha. So, originally from the finger lakes region of Western NY, now down in the DMV. I'm doing my first grow indoor to get my feet wet and see what kind of output optimum conditions can create. I then also plan to do maybe another one inside. And indoor and outdoor grows simultaneously throughout the summer. (I've got 20 seeds and don't want them to go bad. I've also got some photo proud I want to do this summer, those bastard's were cheap!) I actually started my grow journal with my queries, gonna be white widow autofem XTRM from AMS, cuz they had a deal and why not. To break even I think I need a total of 2 ounces.

Previous going experience - had a poppy garden last summer, extremely easy. Was also a 4-H'er my entire childhood, so I've grown backyard corn, tomatoes, one pumpkin.

Geologist by pay, music freak from birth. Motivation throughout life: if you tell me no, I'll figure out a way to do it. Motto: damn your dogma.

Think that about does it. Oh yeah, pax3, FTW (not shilling)

Welcome to afn bro. Bunch of east coasters here floating around. I wish you luck on your grow, its not as easy as people make you think. A few so so grows before you really nail it down and start turning the corner. Genetics play a huge roll in yield and quality, may want to try mephisto if your looking for both of those 2 things. Dinafem and fast buds are others I have ran with great success.

IMG_0643.JPG 74 oz from 8 mephisto hubbabubba that I just finished up. I ain't buying weed either lol.

Yeah, I've got a thread started over in New growers or beginner growers... Something, essentially, I'm battling with size: 3'x1.5' or 4'x2' both five or 6' tall, mobile ceiling. I'm doing a white widow CFL grow. My seeds came from AMS. I had one germ, but had no soil, so I just got too eager. 530w @ 29700 lumens, lights spanning the spectrum.

Welcome to AFN! I'd go with the biggest tent you have room for. I guarantee after a grow or two it won't be big enough, it never is. Growing your own is the addicting part of cannabis. Good luck with your first grow! :vibe:

yeah. @iampepe is right. so you got some watts to go. doing a cfl run, 2. Check the link in my sinature. Will stop by!

Welcome! Agree with iampepe and CO above, whatever space you have won't seem like enough. I'd love to get more beans going but I'm restricted in cost and time. Do the best with what you have, and don't fret if you encounter any problems. People here will be happy to offer advice!

Good advice. The larger the tent the better, or you're buying another one in 3 months. The autos finish quicker, but they are small plants. a 5 foot tent is good for most any auto variety I would guess. If you mean to run photo varieties than you want taller one. a 5 foot tent only offers less than 4 foot of vertical grow space before light burn becomes a real issue..

I was eyeing my space again today, and I think 2' do would accommodate my largest 7 gallon pot (if I do photos (and I may this summer), I'd definitely start in the closet about a month earlier than the outdoor growing season, give it a good jump or allow me to sort out males.) Maybe bump to 6' tall. Really don't want to go longer than 5'/6', but since it's plywood, I can pinch a wall in to conserve space inside. Space isn't a concern, but I don't need to go overboard, either. I'm hoping I'm just going to fit a decent amount it without overcrowding and allow these babies to flourish!
