Hi!
I am a new grower. I just watered my babies. Some of the water got on the leaves and a few minutes later the seedling looked burnt.
I heard that it is ok to water when the sun is out. Is that not true? Did the acid in the water burn my plants? I had it at 6.5/7 ph.

If it "just" happened from just water, all it could be is light burn from drop(s) focusing light. In nature, these plants get rained on. I presume no real damage.

But it looks like you've got other things happening, other types of marks on the leaves. Hopefully, more knowledgable types will respond about that.

You may as well start now giving more information to aid in diagnosis, with the first thing others will want to know is all about your medium/soil, lights, temps, have you checked for insects, seed strain, age, etc. And also consider, your inquiry might best be posted or moved to the plant hospital or first aid (whatever it's called) section.

Hi @Durgie P. welcome to AFN. To get someone's attention put the atmark @ in front of their AFN name ind it will flag them. Just like I did to you! Lots of good farmers here willing to help you harvest some good meds.

Water droplets can form a lens that focuses light on the underlying leaf surface. If the light is strong enough (not likely indoors) it can burn the leaf. Are your plants outdoors? It does not look like that to me. It looks more like the water bounced off the soil and got on the leaf. This can carry contaminants that might burn the leaf. It is hard to see in the picture. Try posting full size.

:toke:... this happened within minutes?! Are you positive? ...nothing in the water did that, pH is fine,.. can't think how even splash-up from the soil could cause this, there's nothing that concentrated there that wouldn't have fried the plant already.... Roots are way more sensitive than the leaf surface,...
.... "lensing" burn is possible, but very very unlikely... having worked in the nursery bizz for years with all kinds of plants, I've only seen it happen very infrequently,...
