Hello peopleee!!!

I have an idea about drying the buds outdoors. As you can see from the title it is meant for people who can't afford drying room, drying tent etc like myself. It sucks because you work hard and then you have to work your ass and brain off to figure out how to do it.

I had to do it outdoors and so far I would put the buds in paper bags and then those paper bags inside the trash can bags which were sealed with scotch tape. They were put in the bushes on my site but it turns out that it takes time due to the humidity which cant escape the plastic and low temps aswell. Now I do it like this:

I take the cardboard box and wrap its bottom with trash can bag to avoid capillary rising of the water or soaking while rains

Then I put the buds inside my own paper bags. They are made using A4 white paper.

Everything is put inside the bush with trash bags on top...

Not too sure about this but it seems it will work as long as it can't get really wet in any way just don't know if it's gonna get enough airflow to dry the buds... I would Def watch for mold and try and open it daily so fresh air can get in like burping I would assume. Hopefully the homemade paper bags will wick away the moisture and not let the buds rot.

Keep us updated brother and sending you the best of karma for your harvest

I am convinced it wont get wet because first of all there shouldnt be any rain these days and the box is protected vertical-wise i.e. top and low side of it.
I will poke some holes today for airflow although its not totally sealed up. When I assembled the box I left some parts of the box unsealed.
I am trying to dry these buds for more than 3 weeks total because they have been keeping the same amount of moisture for the last week and a half.

no change in RH in a week and a half.could be that's as dry as they will ever get outdoors.no other option ? a garage/shed/loft.
I guess even if they where in the boot of your car they wouldn't ever dry as early morning moisture, steamy windows etc will never let them get anywhere near dry enough to smoke.
keep an eye out for rot to.
goodluck

Good news guys! I went to check it today and buds felt much dryer than last days. The stems don't break yet but they can be bent quite a bit. I poked some holes to allow air circulation and I believe that is the key along with dry paper bags and protected box. This is placed on the northern side of a hill so it usually gets humid and cold during the night but right now nice breeze is blowing and rh ranges from 40-60%.

To me this is one of the most important things in growing because it proves that anyone can grow his own weed (fom seed to smoke) regardles where and with who they live. I will use this drying method next year because the concept is pretty simple: paper bags put in a cardboard box which is isolated from bad weather and has some airflow. Maybe someone else did this before, I don't know. I will go and check everything in two days and let you know the results.

Thanks on support and help

Buds are drier than ever but still they are at 77% rh in jars so it will need additional drying. Everything goes well thanks to the weather. It is mid December and it feels like spring time in my area, you could grow plants in these conditions!
