Idea: Application for Testing Seeds

I'd love to be a tester but... I am only a grower, not the one who smokes it. And in my experience so far the smoke reports I've asked for are just not detailed enough to be useful to a breeder. Maybe I should venture into some form of processing, so I could give input on other methods of application rather than the smoke.

i think to be considered for testing of seeds or any other items no 1 you must be active in the community and bring something with you if not knowledge help and advise people when you can no 2 min one full grow journal to show your not going to just abandon the site and breeder with a few free seeds as i think its just about building a reputation as a stand up guy im not the most experienced grower but i have learned a ton since joining afn and some great friends along the way and consider myself a very active member

So I've been a member on afn for a while but my grow journals are on a differnt forum, I love growing marijuana forum. But i have more then one completed auto flower grows. They were my way to record my progress as i gave autos a try for first time, prior to this I've done quite a bit of outdoor growing, and indoors with photos, SOG was my thing.
My 2 newest projects on deck( as soon as i finish up the last 20 autos im room now) is a mo ster cloned superskunk scrog and a small greenhouse fem. Auto flower seed breeding adventure between chocodope x whitewidow/Bigbud XXL auto.
So can journals posted else were count if they can be confirmed?

I've seen a big improvement in organization and follow through on the staff side of things and testing could be a good thing for this forum, but there have been too many cancellations , re-starts, failure to ship test products and just plain changes while Ive been a tester. Because of that I can not understand the desire to bring on more testers before we have a stable testing system and then what about older testers? we are making promotions and rule changes like the changing winds. Ive seen testers jump to a new levels without completing a full year of testing, now i see i'd have to do 6 tests to get to level three. That can not happen for me, i have to plan my grows and space tests MUST happen and start on time. I passed on growing alot personal strains just holding space for a cbd test, screwed up my whole year with reschedules.

I say no more testers until everybody who wants to test can actually get their products on time. And not get what they didn't ask for.

To clarify, improve organizational reliability get better vendor participation or stop expanding! This place is starting to look like 420 magazine and they quit being a growers forum a long time ago.

For many years I was an active member in a homebrew club; I was even the president for one year. I often heard the same type of problems expressed by our members over the years as @jingo concerns here. Well I just reminded them that it is a "Drinking Club" and at the start of the day we all had good intentions of getting a lot done but often the only thing that got done was a lot of drinking. Well this is a cannabis club first and foremost. We are going to have some spaced out times. There is a lot of work behind the scenes and I for one think things are going swimmingly. Yeah things get FUBARed but take another toke and all will be well in the world. It is not a requirement to be a tester to enjoy this forum.
This is just MHO and I love the staff and what they do for me.

If the test grows look n smoke ok then ill consider buyin em- l aint got the discipline to be meticulous with my grows and l run a tight ship with my grows similar to what @jingo is sayin
I must say that most people want free seeds- but are the legion of mephisto disciples on here prepared to grow unknown testers from less (un)known breeders with 3 months of detailed grow info when the next 'drop' happens? I dont think so
This isnt a dig at anyone just food for thought for anyone panhandlin fer seeds

There is no such thing as free; we invest time, space and money in nutrients, power, soil etc........... Seeds fot the most part are not a big percentage of the cost of my grows. Electricity is at the top of that pile followed by the nutrients. I personally love growing new strains and would be shopping around to get some. So, really no change in my mode of operation. It is just as easy to pay for seeds that don't pop. I just spent $150 for 10 regular seeds Wedding Cake BX1 9 of which failed to germ with a 50/50 chance that the one that managed to grow would be male! Then to top it of a huge number of growers are reporting almost all of that strain that do grow are hermies. They are pulling the balls off and getting some good smoke but what a pain in the ass!
