iron sulfate or peat moss for high ph?

Greetings peeps. I have a slight prob. I have about 3 cubic foot of TLO soil thats been sitting for longer that 3 months with a whomping ph of 8. Im looking on kelpforless right now at 1 pound of iron sulfate for $10 bucks. My questions are:

how would i apply it?

How long will it take?

Is it worth it?

Should i just use equal amount of peat moss and call it a day?

Try Aluminum Sulfate @ 6 grams per gallon of soil.

Aluminum sulfate is what I use to lower the starting pH of Pro Mix, which is at 7 right out of the bag, at the rate of 4 grams per gallon of soil mix. That lowers it to about 6.3. I would start at 6 as Briman suggested. Expect to see the pH hit it's low point a day after watering and slowly rise as the soil dries out. Elemental sulfur also works but is slow acting, taking about 2 months to become effective. Cottonseed meal also works well but has an NPK of 7-0-0, so not advisable to use unless you need the extra N.

Thanks guys for the help. Im not sure yet but i think im gonna go with the sulfur or iron sulfate. Also thinking about sending my soil in to get tested.
