Hey everyone I got a small tent set up with cfl for lighting when I leave the doors open the temp is fine at around 79 degrees but when I close it it goes to around 86 or maybe alil hotter. I have a home made carbon filter attached to a 4" hose but I do not have a proper fan. My girls are starting to stink up the place so I really need to keep the tent closed.

So is 86 acceptable until I get a proper fan???

86 degrees is just over the top of the temp limit.I wouldn't keep them at that for very long so i would get a fan as soon as possible

They can easily survive 86 but they won't thrive under 86. I've never had an outdoor grow that didn't see the mid-90's to 100 and, though none of it was gonna be in a High Times fold-out, it was good herb. Sometimes we have to take what we can get but, if you can get a better fan, by all means do. :peace:

Maybe research using silica it might help on them days when the temp rises. Pretty hot time of the year for me.

Yea, leaf temps on my outdoors plants will reach 105+ easily. Indoors I'm usually around 85-88 without CO2, 96 with CO2.

Why so much hotter while running co2??

Plants have a temperature of maximum CO2 uptake, which is usually around 93-98 degrees or so.

It's kinda weird... 'cause with all of the talk about so much CO2 in the atmosphere and the temps rising, the plants actually can grow faster. It's almost like mother nature is bumping up the grow environment to try and produce more because we're taking so much out.

I agree with the medicine man. just think about where these plants originated, mostly tropical and sub tropcal climates. you may need to make a few adjustments though like watering. best of luck!

Thanx guys you've atleast put my mind to rest on the subject for now I feel way more comfortable about leaving then with the doors shut. I should have a new fan within the next 2 weeks so no worries
