Quick question guys, I am wondering now it is getting colder is it ok or advisable to switch my lights onto 24/7 after they are used to 20 hours light and 4 hours darkness, would it confuse them or would my autos deal with it? I would appreciate any contributions and thanks in advance :tiphat:

Hopefully someone with more auto experience chimes in, but I say go for it. I do not think they will mind at all. :peace:

When i go from 20/4 to 18/6
I go down 15 min every day. so it will take 8 days to go down.. Thats what i do
So maybe you should go up by 30 min.. a day
just my :2cents:
But i don't have any reference.. never tried a drop by 2 hours or a increase at 4 hours. so cant't say if your plants will get stunted
Peace

Shouldn't be a problem ... when I'm using my light for heat during veg I use it 24/7 ... once flowering commences I'll drop it to something like 22/2 ... a little dark doesn't hurt and many strains like a daily cooling down period to achieve their full potential ... should be able to move the light time to 24 hrs in one move w/ no problems ...

going down in hours is fine , i wouldnt advise going up though , auto or not , also , going down wasnt the question and is irrelevant to the question asked as its the total opposite and other then a slight yeild loss there is no effect on a plant going down (within reason)

im not claiming your plants will stress out , im just saying i wouldnt advise it and figure planning ahead should of been in order when you started the plants

peace

I agree with b0b and say he's spot on - going down in hours won't do much damage at all (if any, short of a slightly decreased yield), going up and causing fluctuations even if the plant is auto can stress it enough to throw some nanners. If you're confident in the genetics you're using, go ahead - +4 hours is a big jump though to do at once.

20/4 works better than 24/0 in my experience. Everything needs sleep, light bill and plants included.

What's your reasoning for wanting to increase the lights if you don't mind us asking?

I believe he said to raise the temps. I start mine on 20/4 and the last 2 or 3 wks 22/2,i have no idea why I just does her that way
