New Grower Is it worth it?

Yo, well i have been thinking of taking up autoflowers as a hobby. I already grow regulars with mh/hps lights but i like to grow and have little more space and 8x32w 4Ft 6500k & 2500k bulbs i would like to use on a 24/0 20/0 cycle. I know not alot but should work for a few autos in 3 gallon pots in organic mixed soil i use for my others but ill prob cut it to 50/50. Now my guestion is it worth it with these lights am i going to get what a oz or 2. Yeild isnt that important as i want to do af just for fun but dont want to waste my time. Anybody recommend a strain im get a couple packs if i commit. Thanks sorry for the ramble its that sativa!

First and foremost KCF: welcome to AFN!
How big is your grow area? Is that 8feet or what is it width and length? Personally wouldn't waste time with 24/0 as plants need to rest as well... 20/4 is good for majority of strains... So many different strains to pick! What type of bid do you like? Make I suggest DP Think different...
Also, are you having fun? Than nothing is a waste of your time.

Thanks i pretty much just have to order af beans and im ready i have everything i need i believe sense im already growing. I will check out think diffrent. Anyone recommend amount of plants with this room and lights? With a average 60-80 day auto?

I do around 18-20 plants under my t-5 at any given time. But my Short_stuff autos stay kind of small. I rotate them from right to left with younger plants on the right. I might pull 100gr a month. Works out pretty well. The lettuce is just a kitty guard. It works.

T-8 lights are very weak so you're going to have to keep that light bank a couple of inches from the tops of the plants. Think Different is an awesome auto, but it's a huge one and I don't think it's right for that light setup. The light penetration is very poor and just with a large plant I think you'd end up with a big top nug and a bunch of popcorn. I'd grow something a little smaller so the light can cover the whole plant instead of just the top, the dwarf autos would suit you well with that. MI5 is a great auto and one I recommend starting out on autos with. She's vigorous, hungry and harder to burn than other med-small sized autos. I'd also use a smaller pot than a three gallon, maybe a bunch of smaller pots shoved together in a SOG style, like the picture alley threw up.

I'm sure I'll think of more later, but I'm only on the first cup of coffee and the sand isn't gone yet.

Oh yeah, I'd stop by the new growers section even though you're not a new grower. Autos are very different from photoperiod plants and are easy to burn and stunt. Even experienced growers have problems with them, I just stunted my last batch

If you hung the light box like Alley, then you possibly could get some verticle drop lights in there to support the undergrowth better?
