Old Reviews Is my t5 enough?

She's a beaut andy, great thinking with the double pot method, will have to try that buddy. Looks like I'll be needing a 4x24 watt t5 then, thanks all for the great advice! Very helpful to a first time grower like myself. Keep it green

I've heard they're the best for vegging, thanks for the homemade cfl light tips, veeeeery useful. Will changing the bulb to red for my t5 work well in flowering also?

Autos really like blue light, so I never switch to all red. I've found that a 50/50 mix of blue and red from beginning to end gives me the best results, so now I don't switch at all. If I were you, I'd stick with the 2 bulb T5 and its blue bulbs & then during flower add as many red CFLs as space/heat/money will allow.

Ahhhh you learn something knew everyday, or about 10 things :) you mentioned 50/50 so would that mean that 1 red bulb and one blue would be ideal for my 2 bulb t5? If not then I will just add a cfl at flowering stage. Big help andy appreciate it mate! Keep it green

Right, you want to give them a mixed spectrum to duplicate sunlight as much as possible. But if I had to go with just one, I'd use blue T5 all the way. I did my first T5 grow with no red spectrum at all and I had some really nice plants at the end. But more experimentation has led me to the mixed spectrum throughout the grow. I'd highly recommend playing around with different light spectrums as you do different grows and see what results you like best. There's definitely no 100% 'right' way to grow these autos with flouro bulbs, and I've seen both great and poor results from different growers with different bulb setups. Also, be sure to check out the T5 and CFL sections under the lighting forum for tons of good info.

Good to know buddy, I'll keep them on blue for the grow and update pictures weekly :) incase anyone else has the same questions as me. This is only a test run to advance my growing skills, my next bunch will be Wipeout Express Auto and thanks to everyone's help it will surely be a beautiful grow :D Keep it green

honestly id advise adding some red , without trying to insult anyone , the grows ive seen with only blue spectrum look like hay , the bud structure and , well everything about it looks terrible imho

id much rather all red in flowering

mimic/duplicate the sun if you like , but dont forget we CAN improve on nature , nature is limited imho , we are far less limited and CAN improve

peace

Put me in a slight predicament :S i think you have a point though Bob, I'll be doing full blue spectrum in veg, then blue and red when it shows sex then fully red in flowering, it seems more appropriate for the plant than having a veg light in there 20-4/7, everyone's advice is welcome, different opinions make true perfection :D

Everyone is welcome to their opinion, that's for sure. I am only commenting on what I personally have grown and documented here on AFN as well as watching many other more experienced T5 growers on the site. I don't claim that my way is best & I'm always trying new things to improve. I will say that my grows with all blue looked nothing like hay and had great buds, but I'll leave it at that.

I think it's more to do with the type of plant growing, looks like the only way to sort this difference in opinion out is to do more than one grow ;) which is far from a bad thing. Keep it green
