Lighting is this £70 inc delivery MarsHydro 300W LED a good deal. its a uk supplier

I have flowered plenty of plants under that exact light. I think sanguine is right he is just after selling his stock I would buy it excellent light for the money don't think 1 unit will cover 1.5mx1.5m I use 2 in 1mx1m good luck once you go led you won't look back

o did i put meters, i meant feet. it says 1.5x1.5feet.

yeh the LED he had in started at £150 and went up to £600. he did try selling me some 125 and 250w cfl for £10 lol after i told him i was using cfl, but then i mentioned the LED and he really tried to talk me out of it. probably to get rid of his old stock most likley. didnt buy any. the 250w in the pic above is not as good as 2x45w and a 23w on the side like i have in my other chambers. need to get rid of this awful thing.

Sadly this is NOT the same MarsHydro 300 old model that you may have. I have 2 300w old models and the one listed by dendrite007 is NOT the same. MarsHydro now uses the 300w LED as their eBay/amazon price wars game. They don't even offer them on their company website anymore. If you notice in the listing that dendrite007 posted it only has 1 cooling fan vent. Also the real wattage is all the way down to 125/130watts on the original 300w old model the real wattage was 180watts. Overall size is much smaller as well(shorter). On one of the other growing forums the MarsHyro rep states "product is of much lesser quality". Glad I got one of the last REAL old models before they changed designs.

humm, so the old models are no good? the actual draw of 130 appeals to me as its the same as my two other chambers with cfl in and i didnt want to go a huge amount above that. just thought i would get better plants under led than cfl if the draw is similar? is this not right ? > could the led be worse than the 2x45w and 1 23w cfl. ??

ok, i just checked and this one has the 5w LED.

i think i might go for it for £70 all in,

anything think its a really bad idea? given its just for a flowering area for 1 plant like in the pic above.

or is there a significaltley better performer for say under £140 with a similar draw at the socket

I don't know how they can still call them the "old model" now being they are completely redesigned. What has me disliking them now is the lower real wattage draw. I know how the numbers game works but calling something 300w and it's not even half that is just starting to get a little sad. I am glad I got one of the last REAL 300w old models before the change. Like I said on a different grow forum the MarsHydro "rep" Sara(gotta love the english names they use) said they are more or less junk. Here is the quote straight from the rep about the 300w old model

"yes we deleted that from our website. It's what we use for the ebay price war and we can't even get our cost back by selling this model therefore i can't guarantee the long term quality, so personally i don't recommend you take the old model."

In the future I will just do DIY COB LED fixture(s) then/if I need different lights.

dendrite007 the big difference you will see using the "new old model" over the 250w in the first picture CLF set up is a major difference in less heat but I think you will have much less light for the plant with the Mars.

You wont find much Brands out there that use the Real wattage in their models all of them 300watters run between 170 and 200 w. and yes i can second Hot Bunz i changed from 2 x 400w Hps to total 660w led now one of my tents was a 400w hps replace with a old model 180w ufo and i had denser buds and double to triple the resin production on my girls here.

Sad thing now is the "new" old model 300w is only using 125/130 REAL watts. It would be easy enough to crack the fixture open and replace the drivers with better, more powerful drivers to get the full 300 REAL watts out of them but when driven at full rated power LED's die pretty quick(like a couple of months).

so is it deffo the old model? it has 5w LED, and i have found some others exactly the same that are 3w LED, so i just assumed this was newer?

I have a generic 300 watt light actual draw around 150 or so I love the light I have apollos and a 1200 watt COB I find it to be the best in resin production, I am going to buy 6 more of them for my four by eight tent I am going to get.

are they 3w LED? is it a cheap unit? do u have a link to where to get it so i can compare?
