First, Happy New Year to all and thanks in advance for everything you do. Now, onto business...
I'm growing northern lights under LED with KindSoil. The only thing I've been feeding the girls is tap water ph 6.5 and distilled water. A few weeks ago an older fan got a bit of rusty looking patches on it and died off. I thought it natural. Since then it has been increasing rapidly. The new growth still seems fine but almost all the older fans have little rust patches which slowly spread till the leaf dies off. It is not a normal yellowing of the leaves as she's getting further into flowering. In my very limited growing knowledge, it looks like a calmag defeciency. May I have a bit of help as I'm a bit worried for my baby.

It sure looks like it ... can you take pic under normal light???

:toke: hey buds-- 'Bass, can you get me normal light pics? LED/HID are crap for diagnostics! ... from what I know of KindSoil and what I can tell so far, it's likely a P defc., though there's some symptom overlap with Ca defc.,... something else, Ca defc. looks very different from Mg defc. (check out the Defc. Pic Depot here in the Infirmary, top section referred to as "sticky's"), though they are often co-symptomatic.. hence their paring together in Ca-Mg supplements! ... it's unlikely this is an off-pH issue in the pot, but that's a possibility still,.. let's see what the better pics say,...:pass:

Thanks guys! I'll get those pics in normal light up in the next day or two, appreciate the help. Cheers. :bighug:

Some better photos....besides that, the buds are looking A-ok just have a while yet. Thanks again gang :smokeout:

 good pics mate! that's definitely Ca defc., and I believe some P defc. starting too; I see it in the leaves, and the buds look a bit leafy-? Flower clusters look smaller than they should I think,... I had P defc. issues too with my KindSoil as have others, with similar signs... As for the Ca defc., LED lights seem to increase demand for Ca-Mg use as well, so up your Ca-Mg inputs and look into an organic PK booster, like Roots Organics HPK (liquid bat poops), or General Organic's BioBloom... both are mild but effective and compatible with this type soil set-up! :pass:

@Waira Thanks a ton! I have some organic cal mag coming in tomorrow, do you recommend going full stregth with it right away or ease it in? I'll certainly look into getting an organic P booster as well. As far as leafy buds, I honestly don't know, first grow :smoking:. So here's a bud shot.

ahhh! I take it back, they look Ok to me for density and structure at this age,... so the potential P defc. isn't messing with them so far,.. a couple things to consider: Ca is pretty much immobile within the plant, meaning it can't be translocated from established tissues to new growth where it's needed, so it tends to hit upper leaves mainly (see the small specks on the fans at the top?)... P is mobile, so it can be taken from leaves and sent to where it's needed most, hence the symptoms on the leaves (yellowing and necrosis) lower down,... yup, get them fresh feeds going ASAP! :greenthumb:

@Waira Quick question, the leaves are spotting, yellowing then dying off as the plant cannibalizes them in order to transport nutrients into more vital areas, i.e., the buds. My question is, is it better to leave the leaves alone and let them completely wither and die on their own so all resources are used OR pluck them off at an earlier stage of necrosis? I have been pulling them when about half the leaf looks like hell but don't wanna do so if there are still resources the plant is using. As always, thanks so much for your help.
