Is this a fake Accurate 8?

I believe all the Accurate 7s and 8s are manufactured in China. Besides Control Wizard I've also seen it sold under another name, which escapes me at the moment. That one is the same as mine, right down to the packaging.

Yup, me too...same down to the packaging...really nothing at all impressive about it other than it's accuracy.

I've seen what appears to be an identical probe with the names Kelway and Tecpel, and a quick search on eBay showed several more with various names. Mine came in the same packaging as the OPs, and it's branded as CWP. I don't think these others are necessarily fakes, as they look like they all come out of the same factory. Probably the manufacturer is just wholesaling them to other vendors.

Theres no name at all on this one here.. Control Wiz.. Kelway.. Nada..
But if it's the same one as you guys have pack n' all then it's good enough for me.. It seems on the money when it's in the dirt so... Cool.

Hey Kush T, I'd give it a test just to be sure. I did that with mine even though it was definitely legit. I made a slurry of soil and distilled water from one of the pots I was going to use and tested it with a calibrated pH meter. Then I compared those results with the A8 to make sure they were not drastically different.

nice one GoAuto6... I have always used Bluelab pH pens & EC truncheon so that's interesting... I'll have to have a proper looksee..

After looking at the packaging, I'm just now realizing for the first time that there is no mentioning of A8 or CWP anywhere to be found, but I'm confident it's legit.
