New Grower Is this setup any good?

Hi guys, I am now in a position to start growing (autoflower only) and need some quick advice please.

I have found what appears to be 3 good deals on ebay (all from the same company) but would like your opinions before I waste my hard earned.

In the description, they say it isn't 100% light or air tight but that if you have visitors, just turn off the power - is this just sales speak for "this isn't stealth so don't blame us and ask for a refund"?

Anyway here are the ebay links....thoughts on light wattage, stealthiness, grow space etc greatly appreciated. I think I'd prefer to grow in soil but am not adverse to the idea of a hydro grow - but stealth is my number one concern since I live in a draconian country.

I'm far from being an expert, not even a full 3 weeks into my first grow, but I have learned that getting a unit 100% air tight is damn near impossible, and the more air tight it is, the more co2 supplementation becomes necessary. You know, building your own unit isn't too hard at all. I'm not at all a handyman, and I built my own unit, starting with $35 armoire from the thrift store.

Head on over to the intro section and give a proper hello if you get a chance Im no expert on stealth growing or micro grows for that matter, but there is a great micro section head on over there to see some of the peoples set-ups… I looked at all the links you posted and to be truthful they all seem WAY OVER priced for a fraction of the cost you could rig something up on your own… easy enough… you'll get a lot of GREAT ideas here:

Your off to the right start though heading on over here and doing some planning before growing. I think a solid plan is a recipe for success! With you reading up and researching and the more than willing people here to lend you a hand at your grow you'll be smoking some home grown dank in no time!

Yoda's got you covered, Tinerz. You really should start a thread introducing yourself, telling us your budget, what space you have to work with, your goals for growing, etc. No doubt we can help you get up and running for less than those kits would cost. Plus you almost always end up buying more stuff because every grow is different and the 'all in one' kits never seem to work out that way.

I started out growing two plants in a very small storage cabinet with CFLs and moved to a grow tent from there. Obviously you need lighting and ventilation along with a carbon filter for odor control. Beyond that, the options are almost limitless. You mention stealth but that means different things to different people. Do you need to hide this grow from relatives who live in the same house, neighbors in the building, police driving down the street? Of course these things require a different setup depending on just how stealthy you need to be. I don't think there's any situation that our members haven't tackled, so give us some more info on your situation and we'll pass on some knowledge!
