New Grower Is this Soil mix ok ??

Hi everyone, I will soon be planting some more girls. My brother bought the last batch of soil, and im not impressed by it. I want to buy some Canna Terra Professional, and add some bone,blood,meal Mix into it, And add 30 percent perlite. I know this soil has perlite in it, and other organic nutrients , but i was hoping my mis would give it a bit more of a boost. I will also be adding bat guano to water through once she is well into flower. ?? Help is much appreciated guys

Hey Daneja, not sure if you have spent much time over at the Organics section, but if not, there is so much good information on growing with Organic Soils and teas. Also many very knowledgeable/experianced Organic growers on there.

Sounds alright how? We have no idea of the levels of nutes added nor is there a PH buffer or compost added.

I think it needs a lot of work, check out that link stickman provided and read up, specifically the TLO (true living organic) soil thread. Ya can't just toss stuff in willy nilly, there is a formula.

I was thinking of just replicating someone else's mix, i know i would need to consider amount of organics to put in there. I was hoping someone could sort of give me some advice, i know i haven't been completely thorough with my idea, but was just wanting a good organic soil, and maybe a few things to add just to give her a boost, i wasn't thinking of throwing anything and everything in there. Yes, you should read ALL of the threads in the organics section about soil mixing, pick one recipe and follow it to a T. No mixing recipes or experimenting unless you're prepared to have different or lesser results. Lever's mix is a great one and he gets fantastic results.


It's best to know what you're doing with the soil (feeding microbe populations, not the plants) before you dive right into it. Do your homework and you won't be disappointed.

Don't ever throw experimentation completely out of the window though - we learn
stuff from mistakes - as I well know from my current grow!
