Good afternoon,

I am on my first run,

Got a 1.5x1.5x2m tent, rvk 5" inlet and 6" outlet, maxibright 315 daylight lamp, 80w led for seedlings, autopots with Coco no perlite, rhino dual thermostat fan controller, AN sensi grow bloom, cal mag, pH up and down, 2 thermometers, maybe add terpinator.

Can get a constant 23.7°c with the led and fan on the pots so should be fine when potted. Watered pots with about 1 litre each two days ago, cal mag0.5ml litre, home and garden root stimulator, 0.15ml per litre, tap water ph7.4 un balanced, ph to 5.8.

I am going to drop the germinate seeds tonight. Would people advise having the led running or dark until it sprouts???!

Please help me out here guys, some master auto growers out there @Hansbricks @budelee there are more I have forgotten.

Cheers

@James0807 ,Thanks for the mention bro..some things i can help with but i have no experience with autopots..we have a section dedicated to that tho. You will find fols like @Steve Austin @Wile e Peyote @witchyhour @tripaholic88 just to name a few, they will get you squared away with the info you need,,i can still offer plenty good advice with other stuff,so don't hesitate to tag me in.. Good karma!!

Hi man,

Thanks ms for adding those additional peoe in there for me.

Autopots have airdomes and some clay pebbles at the bottom to. Obviously not going to turn them on until day 21 or so. I am wary about my watering schedule, anyone help?

James

Sorry for the duplicated pics.

Light or no light is the question when I pot up tonight. What would you guys advise?

James
Oh i gotcha..i woupd give them light but not full strength,or too close with the lamp, let em build a little strength before you increase the lamp intensity( or lower it).. The first few weeks the upper will move kinda slow while the roots Work thwir way down to the res, once they hit that, the upper will explode. Also @HemiSync and @Hansbricks can share some serious knowledge with AP's..

Subbed, just top water em bro until the fans reach the edges of the pot, then you can turn the airdomes and water on.

Reason for this is the girls need to root out the pot before you're able to run the system.

Watering should be enough to soak the pot, then you wait till the pot gets light again, could be 1-3 days depending on the size.

Just run the LED, or any other low power bulb you got going, won't make any difference till they sprout other than warming the medium.

Or better yet, no light at all if you have a soil heater, just something to make sure soil temp is 18-22 celsius.

You could also put a little dome over where the seedling is till it sprouts, this keeps the humidity in and should speed up germination, You take them off once they show leaves as they'll need more airflow then.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for your advice and you being subbed for the grow

Thanks

:pop:Subbed up and ready to go. Here's a :slap: to get ya started for having such a nice looking setup.

This is probably more info than you want but the first 21 days are the longest and some of the most important days with autopots and I thought seeing my schedule might give you some ideas on how you want to do it.

Lights, I run two LED panels that in veg use 180 watts at the wall. I move them as high up as I can and run them 24/0 from the seed drop. I do this to help warm the tent and so the instant my baby pokes her coties out of the coco they have a light to head to. My lights have to be up that high to keep from damaging the seedlings.

Seeds, I am horrible with germinating and the transplanting so I start by putting my seeds in a shot glass of pH for 24 hours. As soon as I see them crack and show their tails I put them directly into the coco and water 500ml in in a small circle around the seed. Once they show themselves, I call that day one. I also use a humidity dome until they are a few days old.

I then wait until day five and water another 500ml in a small circle around the girl so the water goes straight down, to promote her roots heading straight for the bottom. I wait 24 hours after each feeding and vacuum up the excess water if any from the trays. Then on day 10 and day 15, I water 750ml and 1 liter respectively, again ignoring the whole pot and concentrating on a five inch in diameter circle around the base. On day 20, you should have a young lady that reaches the sides of the Autopot and you might even notice some increased vigor signaling the roots hit bottom and she is ready to push upwards. I then water the entire pot with 1.5 liters, wait 24 hours and turn on the reservoir.

I use this schedule because in the past I was an "over-waterer":sadcry:, yes I admit it I have loved a few seedlings to death. This keeps me focused and seems to work with my combo of coco/perlite YMMV.

Hope it helps and welcome aboard the Autopot train. :baked:
