Thanks guys. I'm just gonna roll with it and see what happens, I will get lights for my next grow but I can't use them where I am living at the moment, I'm moving at the end of summer so I will invest then.

I will insist on you getting them at least under a regular CFL for a few weeks. I had one of mine plants on natural light and she did not grow at all during the time she did't got the 18 hours of light. By mid June you will get at least 1 more hour of sunlight and the weather should be better too.

Or alternatively you could just leave it for a couple of weeks to get started then check back on it to see how it's doing.

Bear in mind that it won't flower after a certain predefined number of days, rather it will flower when it has reached the appropriate stage of development (most likely some time after it has four sets of true leaves). The timing of this stage of development will usually be quite predictable if it is grown under optimal conditions, but will be much less predictable under uncontrolled conditions.

I tend to find that I grow much bigger and more robust plants in sunlight, but they grow more slowly than plants grown indoors. I think that the balance between illumination and temperature (i.e. it is only warm when it is sunny), combined with the more powerful sunlight when compared to low power indoor set-ups, causes this.

Thanks for the info and help, I was leaning towards thinking it will start flowering while the plant is way too small and I would have a tiny yield, but you have eased my mind. By the time it has four sets of leaves it will be getting into the warmer and sunnier weather so there should be a growth spurt. The plants are at home and move between a bright south facing window on the colder days and go out in the greenhouse on warmer days. What do you think is the minimum temperature for them to not have slowed growth? There are so many conflicting opinions online.

I suspect that any reduction in temperature, below perhaps 20 degrees C, will probably slow things down a bit. If temperatures fall below 10 degrees C (or thereabouts) then I doubt that they will grow at all, it doesn't seem to do them any harm although they can take a few days to get warmed up and growing again. As a general rule I think they can be treated as having a similar cold sensitivity to tomatoes. If they are treated like this then I think they will do well, although I think that they are actually much more tolerant of the cold than tomatoes are (but if they are too slow getting going it will be winter again). I think that the flowers are probably a bit more picky about the conditions.

I think it's easy to fret about seedlings, when what they really need is to be left alone to get on with it. Remember that until they have about three sets of true leaves they don't really have enough leaf area to do any serious growing.

In the meantime I would strongly recommend a sundance

Little picture update, at day 15 now. It should be getting sunnier and warmer over the next week so hopefully will see some faster growth.

It's been a while since I posted an update, It's been a very busy summer. My girls are at day 82 now and everything is going well, although I have a dilemma, I have a problem that looks like mould and I don't know whether to harvest or not. I only have the problem with one plant. It looks like I could get away with harvesting just the top half of the plant, is this OK to do or an absolute no no? Any help/input is appreciated.
