New Grower Just a few quick questions...

hmmmm the 15L bottled water from the shop has a ph of 7.5... Would that be better? This is the one here

i guess i would still have to use the ph down on it?

Cheers :)

or if you want to be organic some people i know use lemon juice, you can buy natural lemon juice in a bottle....Tasty :P

Would using lemon juice be easier ? like a few drops lowers it a few .1's at a time if you know what i mean lol

Also would my weed taste lemony ? :D

Cheers :D

yeh it isnt so strong as like ph down so is a bit safer for you and plant.
i dont think it has a great impact on taste, if you wanted to create a zesty taste when curing leave some lemon peel or zest in your cure jar along with the bud

much love and bud karma brother

oh one last thing doesnt have as long as a shelf life as ph down does though.

So should i use both the mag/cal and the lemon juice or? xD

Well i think im going to cry... i had the seeds in the pack in my pocket... I was putting the soil in the pots and the seeds fell out of my pocket and i stood on them :'( 1 of them had its shell half spliff off and i could see the white bit in the middle (that looked undamaged) and another had a small crack in it. The other 3 looked ok but i have planted all of them anyways but i fear the 2 damaged ones will not live :(

Life can be a real bitch sometimes :(

i do have 2 free seeds but i want to give the damaged ones a chance to live...

:(

Sorry to hear of your woes Wild1, give them chance, they are tougher than you think..are you starting a journal I can follow?

Are you guys sure I need I change the pH of the water ? I just found this about my soil which suggests I don't... http://www.plant-magic.co.uk/frequentlyaskedquestions.html

Cheers

With regards to pH, let me tell you how important it is...very lol. Being in control of your pH will see you to harvest, second guessing it will only bring problems. My advice, whatever water and nutrient line, soil etc you decide on. CHECK THE PH! You don't want to be watering with anything below 6.0 ideally if you are in soil. Your soils pH is best around 6.5-6.8, somewhere in that area. Water pH can change dramatically when you add nutrients and this can throw off your soils pH, making it difficult for the plant to take in the nutrients it needs. I've included a chart below that shows what nutrients are available or locked out at certain pH.

Hope this helps.:HW8:

THAT is some advise is worth memorizing! lolol Every one of us has had to deal with pH issues, and even though "in theory" a perfectly balanced soil will take care of the pH, we all learn that it is a delicate balance and we need to make sure its not getting out of range- because... it will. Very best to you, wild1!
