Can anyone explain what points, trophy and reputation scores is all about?

Trophys are awarded for completed a number of tasks (like winning Bom contest, or completing a fertilizer review or a sponsored companies strain) For me it appeals to the collector in me, as is the case with many others. Rep is given out when someone think you have typed something that is very usefull or helpful, or when you post an awesome pic of a bud. Basically someone showing their appreciation for your post.

I was just about to start up my own thread titled "forum doofus" (me), and ask the same thing.
feeling a bit lost with all the bells and whistles on this forum;
likes, trophies, awards, etc
not all that experienced in these matters, but as long as I don't step on anyone's toes, maybe it doesn't matter.
BUT PLEASE WILL SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO GET AN AVATAR PICTURE UPLOADED.
I keep getting

For the avatar, go to Your Profile - you will find it on the Quick navigation menu, chose Personal details under Settings. There you can upload an avatar.

You may be trying to upload to big of a file. if you have a smart phone try getting on the forum using that then pretty much anything in your phone (picture) can be used as an avatar..

Evening Dr B AFN has Serious, fun, community and more obscure badges. They are important to most members and some consider `Grow completed` important and some consider `AFN assimilated` important. It really depends on why you`re here! It`s good t`show Kudos to those who deserve it, but...it`s also pretty t` appreciate those who participate and help make a place where All Folks feel that their contributions are recognised! ...(good question btw! )

thanks Dr.B, I have tried a few times, but keep getting the file extension thang, be it a small postage size avatar size or something obviously too big, so I don't know what's going on. I just "liked" your reply, because....well...because everyone seems to be doing it and I don't want to make a Faux pas by omission. I see that once I "liked it" I got dragged off to the "are you sure you want to like this post?" room, which was a bit unexpected, and even more unexpected was seeing that the thumbs up button I had pushed was now in the "unlike" position and there was a moments panic.
anyway I am waffling because I had a blip of my hash a couple of hours ago.
I will end by saying "I LIKE" all the responses I get from you guys; its just nice to be sharing a bit of weed appreciation again as my of my age bracket friends have become responsible adults!.
I think people only grow up if they have to; why would you do it otherwise???

thanks Ripper. yes a couple of the files I tried were definitely on the big side, but I tried small ones too (avatar size) and got the same message so I am still non the wiser, which is an on-going condition (this guy is supposed to be crying but looking like tears of laughter to me.)
some day I will change from green man into something a bit more interesting, like some psychedelic art.

If you go profile page, click in avatar space then press custom pic...it should take you to your laptops pics etc. then choose what pic you want and open. This should then appear in your Avatar pic. It does for me anyway!
(You can`t copy and paste etc...you probably know that already, but I`m fluckin` useless with tech stuff, so I thought I`d say anyway).
