Just picked up The Rev's TLO Book

Keep in mind that the Rev has nothing to do with autos so any recipes he gives will need to be weakened for autos. I learned this the hard way with my 1st two grows. I made a weaker version of the soil using his master builder mix and now i'm flying on auto-pilot (pun intended). Welcome and good luck, TLO is great! :Sharing One:
+1 on what Albert is saying! I killed 3 auto Jacks and a G13 Blue somethingorother because I didn't take that into account. My fault, completely..
The Rev's book, and Teeming with Microbes, are indeed master class material. I really like Rev's laid back style, too :)
Best to you! :Sharing One:

Thats why ive always said to start with a recipe thats proven to work well and start from there,,not to build your own soil medium(s) since thats where a lot of time n trials come into play with feeding and activity levels. but if you got a recipe built and cook n mix it for a cpl months youll really see it at work. and to my knowledge theres not a thing out there for autos and organics taking into consideration the sensitive root system as well as the freaky nature of autos which on a small level their a stress phenom to an extent too so all things considered, half strength and kid gloves should be used untill your levels and style really get going and tested.to watch it work along with reading what your plants are doing in phase will also help you tons. i know it did me. im a hands on kinda guy soooo.

and reading about how your micro herd has to be balanced along with the feeding characteristics of said microbes as well.all of them provide food n stuffs for the others.so to balance out your levels of said beni microbes and the bad ones again finding that balance is key to understanding then your knowledge will move leaps n bounds soon enough.

So, any advice on how to modify it for autos? Or a link to a preferred recipe? I'm assuming the recipe thread in this forum is balanced for autos...

well like ole Albert is saying.thats what I essentially told him to do since you can pick up a pack of his stuff for 20 bucks a bag of soil of quality if ya can swing the costs for 20 some odd bucks for a good bag of soil like Dr Earths for example, another 20-30 bucks if ya want coco or cheaper like 15 bucks for spagnum peat moss(youll be recycling your soil so its no waste) and enough to get 30-40 LBs of casting..all that should be a bit over 100 bucks not counting shipping ofcourse but mix up the soil bag,the spagnum peat, the castings and Perlite too along with the pack youll buy and itll work excellent.now trying to used bagged soil solely isnt as doable since you have to buy several more products to round out a living organics grow within a bagged soil.not as easily doable is all.

this is where it sucks cuz for cheap you can get these things but there are better soils out there especially if you make your own but for a noob like myself was at one point you get that pack and add 6 gallon of soil...6 gallons of coco or the peat moss i mentioned(or combo or coco and peat moss is fine too) 5.5 gallons of perlite and 5-5.5 gallons of casting then with the pack ya add all that together and use molasses and a good myco in with the water and some cal mag and get a decent seedling mix like black gold or jiffys or similar and thats a winning combo there for a cheaper way to do tlo..especially for the newer grower..once you see it work AS ya read on it itll make a lot more sense too imho.

but again bro there is no match for a good living organics soil and you can get that soil built(minus the shipping ) for all of 100 bucks give er take a little.costs may have changed since when i got my start but its a totally workable recipe for beginners with easy results thatll give you quality buds n plants..all you gotta do at that point s try your hand at drying and curing n thats it..
