New Grower Just Wondering

I haven't grown autos before but I'm considering it.
I was wondering how many hours of light and dark do autos need
to register a day? My thinking is that if I do six hour cycles I can can two days
in one, cutting the entire amount of days in half. Make any sense?

In my opinion 18 on and 6 off is best for me, but they can be run 24/7 or what ever, they flower no matter what lite schedule you run.

my question is rather, do autos run on a natural day schedule or simulated ?? and if simulated, whats the minimum amount required to register a simulated day?

I am pretty sure they are 24 hour day cycles. I do 20/4 or 24/0. Most of the time 20 hours on. It is good to give the roots a 4 hour period to recover imo. Most of the time the longer the light period the more the yield but also remember your costing your self more electricity. Got to balance it out some strain like DP Think Different seem to grow very well with 20 hours of light.
