New Grower Kat's first time

Hi SlinkyKat,

Glad to hear your husband is improving & hope your doing ok too.

As you know I have 2 BioDiesel's on the go...(actually it's 4 now)! My first 2 are 6weeks old now, are budding up nicely & smell a bit, but not loads considering so don’t worry about that too much.

I’ve had a look at your pics on 17th April but can’t see too well...Your girls look tall, healthy & as you say are budding, so don’t chop them or anything as I recon 10+ weeks from seed!

Check the trichomes to gauge when your girls are ripe to be harvested. Look on this site & see what others say about harvesting, drying & curing (when you get the chance of corse).

I have a tip for you! – I’ve started giving my plants Molasses (or black strap molasses) along with my nutes as it provides the plants with extra sugars to help with bud production (nice big ones so they recon) & I think it also helps the plants digest the nutes as well? It’s cheap & doesn’t harm your plants (ie overdose). You can get it from heath food shops, chemists or decent supermarkets.

Good luck with you grow  ... & good karma to you & your husband :karma:

Thanks jonny!!! As you can see, the 1st girl is budding very well, but very little in the way of smell. As this is my first grow, I am quite unsure of what to expect. My second Bio Diesel mass has a great smell, just like my 1st did, not sure if it's smell will do the same as my 1st. With all that has happened in the last 2 1/2 weeks, not sure what the heck to do.
Just finished a visit with the hubby and he's alert and in a lot of pain from all the broken bones. Nurse tells me he may be there as late as June. :( At least he's getting better. That is the bright spot of my day!!!
My deepest love to all of you!!! Thanks for all the karma and well wishes!!!

Sweeeeeeeeeeeet grow!! and thanks for the idea on the CO2 jugs. I have 5 auto flowers in a 3x3 tent, I might get 2 or 3 of these going this weekend.

Question for you, are the CO2 jugs only for vegging or do those help in flowering as well?

Hi ya dictate and welcome to my thread!!! From what I have read, the CO2 can increase yields but, the plants don't use it during the dark period. Depending on how many plants, this will dictate how much CO2 to add to your grow. I grow 2 plants at a time, so 1 jug is fine as it produces quite a bit of CO2. Hope that helps ya out a bit.

Thanks!! So I have my T5 Lighting within INCHES of my plants, should I lay the tubing over the lights or should I squeeze the tubing between the lights and the pots?

Also, does anyone know how many of these I should run in a 3x3x6 tent with 6 plants?

I have enough materials for 2, I'm thinking 3 will be overkill?

I guess it depends on the tubing and the heat of the lights. I have mine up against a wall, pointing straight up, about 3 1/2 - 4 inches away from the plants. My tubing is heavy gauge plastic but it would melt, even with cfl's, if too close to the lights. I would suggest trying 2, and if growth is good, you're good to go, but, if you feel that the growth is not very pronounced, go with 3. Just like we need oxygen, our plants need CO2 to survive but to much could be harmful. Remember, the roots need oxygen not CO2. Watch your plants and they will show you when they have enough. Good growth is the key. Good grow to ya!!!

The problem is, I'm too much of a n00b to know if the CO2 is doing anything. :( hehe

C02 does a ton for your plants man.Outdoors or indoors the levels are nowhere what the plant can truly handle actually.Thats why most use C02 and lots of it.I cant recall the proper ppm but its far more than outdoors offers too so you could easily grab a few 2 litre bottles n do yer thing like Kat does. You can also enrich your plant with dry ice too.there areamongst a few other pretty cheap methods to enrich your plant(s) my friend.hope thats a small bit helpful.be good.

No worries Kat,the ever so small bit of knowledge I have Im happy to pass on.Just wished I had yet MOE know ledge LOL!I live in a Big Farming and Amish Community so Ive been talking to a few of the Local Farmers at the Local Farmers Market we have here.Plus I have a county name so i can slide right in n not get a wierd look like I got a thrid eye or something.LOL!
